okay here goes. Sorry about the poor quality, i like to draw big, so i end up having to scan the image in pieces and putting it back together, hope you can understand it. Anyway my concept in a nutshell is a female super spy on high tech rollerskates escaping from a pursuing copter. I'm pretty excited about this one, good luck to everyone in the challenge.

well here's my new concept, decided not to use the previous one cuz a colleague of mine is using a similar idea. This one does appeal to me more cuz its more character driven, my main goal is to create a sense of action and animation, so i'll be adding lots of flying gambling chips and stuff

thanks alot for the kind words ferx, i agree with you about her eyes looking to the pursuers, i've tried many times but i just can't get it to look right when i do that, it always looks kind of weird, especially her left eye, it looks a little deformed, in fact as it is i'm still not quite satisfied with it. Anyway i'll keep at it

It makes me so happy that she's barefoot! I've been watching secret agent movies and tv shows while working on my piece and my biggest gripe with them is when female agents are fighting and/or running in high heels. It drives me crazy through vicarious fear of broken ankles. Ow! Thank you for designing a sane crime fighting vixen! *laugh*
On a more serious note, I've got to give you credit for tackling such a challenging perspective. You may have a few technical kinks to smooth over, but all in all I think this piece is really engaging and coming along well! I'd offer advice, but honestly I think I'd be tearing out my hair trying to get it right myself. A model or reference would be my best suggestion.

Hi Andrew I'm very glad you dropped by my thread, I saw your pic before and thought it was the most similar to the kind of thing I'm trying to do, which is great. I really like the way you have handled this complicated pose; the tension in the arm is right, also, the position of the legs works very well to give that impression of impulse.
The only areas i find trouble at are those you haven't finish yet, so I think I'm right on time to share my opinion: first her left foot, the one in front, looks very thin and maybe too twisted upwards, It looks better in the sketch but still can get better in the heel area. Second her right forearm, that looks a wee bit longer than the left and also thin, I understand that the girl is very tall and slim, but it looks a bit sticky.
Of course you're still working on those parts so I hope this helps. I'll keep an eye on this one for sure.

thanks for your comments Guys.
Gabriel: i fully agree with you especially about the legs, i was posing in the mirror last night to try and get a more natural look for the legs, and did a quick paintover that i think looks a lot better, tell me what you all think.
Stephanie: that always bothered me too, everyone knows heels aren't for action. My agent is willing to get down and dirty, not some prissy prima donna, hope the bottom section looks a bit more natural now.
Yay the weekends coming up, won't have work getting in the way of the important stuff ;)

Great start, i'm liking both sketches, if i had to choose i'd definitely go for the roller skates girl getting chased by the helicopter, seems more action packed, though the casino chase has a interesting composition as well, maybe her legs and right arm could use some work, something about the way she jumps over the table looks off, otherwise great work and overall concept

cool , cutting it close but nice work....her body looks much better especially the hand...i hope you din die trying to do those fingers, few last bits of advice, the guy right there on the left his eyes could show a bit more white to make him seem more suprised. then those lines on the roof could be thinner and also should definitely be blurred to match the depth of field you already got going...they are to in focus, good luck with the deadline.

Bleu's brains and perceptions worked quickly, as they always did when she sensed danger. She could feel from the way the four men that were escorting her carried themselves: the way they moved, the way they unconsciously patted the almost imperceptible bulges in their jackets, these were no mere casino bouncers. Bleu knew paid killers when she saw them. They had disturbed her game of craps where she was giving the house a good run for its money under the pretence of inviting her to the VIP suite. She wracked her brains. How could she have been made already? Was there an error in her briefing? Or was there a traitor within the organisation? Whatever the reason, she thought, it didn't matter if she wasn't alive to investigate it. The thug in front pressed the button to the elevator. She needed to be away before it arrived or her chances of survival would dramatically decrease. The elevator door opened, she heard a telltale click from under the jacket of the one that spoke "After you miss," He said in a way too polite manner. Bleu returned with her warmest smile. "No, after you," She replied, and quicker than lightning she let out with a powerful kick, jamming her three inch stilleto in the man's jaw. Without losing a second, she kneed the next man close to her in the stomach to halt his attempt to grab her. Bleu took off at full speed back the way she came. Grabbing her small pistol from her purse she bolted full speed into the main casino, it was time to make a quick getaway. From the hurried footsteps behind her, she knew she was still being pursued. Shedding her cumbersome heels without a second thought the spy hurdled a large roulette table in the way. Bleu gritted her teeth made a solemn vow that if she got out of this one, someone was going to pay: pay her back for all the craps winnings she had just been forced to leave behind.
good luck to everyone else in the competition

hey guy. yet again another great piece of work from Black. Nice job completing. I actually feel pretty bad that my skater girl couldnt skate across the line. Oh well. LOL. But yeah Andrew. I like the colour, lighting and textures in this piece. Maybe they should do the next James Bond based on this one. Instead of just sitting playing card.................just take the money and go. This Challange has a lot of concepts that could be done. But yours does have Secret Agent writing all over it. Congrates man. Blackman.
