Hi all

I think i'm confused and need ur help!!!

1. I would like to know why a material never looks the same as it looks in Material editor!!!
Pls have a look at the pictures posted!!!
I to some extent understand that it depends on size and shape of the object but if someone can give some insight on this issue, i'd be greatful.

2. Secondly, i'm not able to find it out that why in a camrea view the point from where the camera starts seeing is always blurred!!!!How this can be taken care of??

In 3dsmax, when using procedurals the size of the pattern is often different on the Material Editor sample sphere than it is on your object in the scene. If you want them exactly the same, you could use a UVW Map modifier on the object, then set the procedural to use Explicit Map Channel.

Hi posm

But the moment i set my procedurals to explicit map channel the whole look n feel of the material changed in the sample window!!!!Would anybody mind explaining this???

Sample doesn't matter, the scene does. At some point the sample becomes useless, and a render is required.

If you want, you can replace the sample sphere/box/cylinder with a custom model, with the UVs and lighting that you prefer. That might help. Look it up in the help.
