Hey guys. I just started modeling a mic stand or an animation I want to do and found a problem, I can't seem to model the head portion where the mic is supposed to go. I've tried finding tutorials and things, but all they try to teach is how to model a microphone (which I already have made). Here's my mesh:

And here's the reference for what I'm trying to get:
Mic stand head (http://http://cachepe.samedaymusic.com/media/quality,85/brand,sameday/5010mics-a26a482d6c97967ce632bf6e0f237efb.jpg)

Can anyone help me with putting this together?

What programme are you modelling in? If it is just the clip you are having a problem with why not try a simple tube, convert it to an editable poly (or Mesh) and delete some segments. Then using soft selection scale down some of the vertices at the back to give it a cone effect.

Hope this helps
