View Full Version : Fill in Vector Paint?

Is there a way to fill a shape Ive drawn using Vector Paint?
Im rotoscoping football players, and could speed up this monotony by just tracing their outline and then filling that in.
Strange if there is no Fill, considering AE is an adobe product..any paint package in the past 15 years has had a Fill...
:)
Also, any suggestions on faster ways to rotoscope?

THANKS!

probably not exactly what you were looking for but. and the fill thing I don't think there is.

I'm pretty sure the process involves animating the mask with
the points.

I think DV garage had some cool rotoscoping tutes on video, might want to check that.

Thanks,
Actually, Im using Bills techniques! They are great!
The thing is, rotoscoping the players is tedious, and having a Fill could speed things up alot....I really hope 6.0 has this feature.

I usually create a mask for each part of the body and them start to animate them and check if the interpolation is fine, if not I add a keyframe and ajust the mask vertices.

I hope that helps 8)

Not sure if this will help but:

To get the fill effect, you can create the mask on the video layer and then create a solid layer and copy the mask to that layer and you'll have a fill.

Thanks Dio, but Im not making bezier masks and animating them, Im painstakingly painting each frame....you have to with fast moving sports...

...Mitch, uhhh, huh?
As of now, I have to paint out the guy, so I start with his outline, and have a nice shape...then I have to scribble in the middle...it would be so much faster/easier if I could just Fill in the outline...

Thanks guys!
