I saw a post a while back comparing Ambient Occlusion maps generated in Maya, Max, Zbrush, Xnormal, Crazy Bump and Mudbox I believe.
After a thorough search I was unable to find the thread containing the post (HD crashed a while back and lost all my bookmarks :() so I thought it might be nice to have a brief discussion on which applications you guys had the most success with. (aka, cleanest, best looking maps with the least hassle).
Personally, I find Maya and Max produce the best maps in general(though very high poly models are problematic), followed by Xnormal, Zbrush, and Mudbox (all more or less the same) and finally Crazy Bump and the Nvidia plugin for Photoshop.
Thoughts? :)
