there is a pretty good section on masking in the help files...it's not really that easy to describe in a post...but...what you do is draw a selection around the area that you want to affect so that the effect or filter or whatever just happens in that area and not anywhere else, then if you need to you can animate that mask(selection) to cover a moving object in your video

with combution you can apply a discreet keyer to the footage and in the setup dialogue you then change the output from "key" to selection. then continue as if you were pulling a key on the shirt. You will then apply a colour corrector and change the colour accordingly.
or you can add a "draw selection" operator and draw and animate a selection to follow the movement of the shirt, then apply your colour correction.
or you can mask the shirt animate the mask to follow the shirt, duplicate the footage and delete or invert the mask on the bottom layer then apply your colour correction to that layer.
or you can do a combination of all 3, it depends on the footage.
Hope this helps

I would have to say, check the manuals on this one. The tut's that come with c2 are way too good to not go through. There are several that deal with both masking and color correction.

thanx mates, iŽll give it a try....iŽll tell u how it went later.
lol i was biggining to think i would had to digital impose a digital shirt over the actor and then used a cg head over his real one as a matte to cover the back part of the shirt...hope i can deal with this with masks!
