Okay, here goes...
This is my first rough concept for the challenge. When I was a kid I used to love playing at being a spy, usually after watching an old bond film on TV on a sunday afternoon so that is the inspiration behind this idea. Our hero is a wannabe spy practicing his skills at his grandparents house. Grandpa has fallen asleep infront of the TV and our hero (let's call him, erm... James! imagines that grandpa is his evil arch enemy hiding out in his lair. James has to infiltrate the lair bypassing the hi-tech security system which includes an alarm that is triggered by lasers. The laser beams are actually a ball of his grandma's red wool that James has tied strategically around the room. He needs to get to the sweety jar next to Grandpa without waking him to retrieve the detonator and save the world!
That is my idea so far, but I need to work out a much more dynamic composition, which personally I find the most difficult part of the challenge (which is why I have never got further than this stage). If I manage to do that I'll be happy and then the fun can really begin. I plan to use a lot of references to well known spy movies and symbolism to create the imaginary world that James is in come to life. Grandpa for example has his pet cat on his lap. Not sure what else yet but I'll worry about that when the composition is right.

This is a fantastic take on the challenge. I love it. I hope you get a chance to develop this because I would love to see where you take it. Keep your mind fresh, keep yourself motivated (Think of the BOXX!!), and you should do fine. :wip:

Switching up the stereotypes. I like it.
But he shouldn't tell YOU to think of the BOXX. I'M thinking of the BOXX! No more advice like that, bub!

Here are a few really basic composition tests to try to find an interesting and dynamic composition.
A. The idea here is that James is sneaking up on the target hiding behind an armchair, as in my original sketch.
B. Here James has somehow devised a way of lowering himself down on a wire as in mission impossible, I know it's a bit far fetched but I thought he could be hanging from a lampshade on the ceiling or counterbalancing his weight with some books from the bookshelf. Anyway I want it to add to the humour of the piece and be a bit far fetched. This kid really goes over the top when he plays spies. I have also moved the TV.
C. Same as the previous idea but I have moved the TV back and changed the angle of the villian (grandad).
By the way, The white box in the background represents a fishtank which will be illuminated and will probably be inhabited by piranhas.
I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

This is a great take on the idea. I still don't feel you've got the shot nailed at this point, but you're close. I guess it's the missing second sofa on the left of shot that we need to see. Also make sure to keep that camera low to put the viewer in the child's world rather than the adult's.
