My first WIP post--
Ok this is a project I just started on the other day-- I'm modeling a modern-looking business woman (based loosely off the "serap" series from holyspirit on the Inertia Stock photo site www.sxc.hu tho I'm skewing a little older.) I won't be focusing on much detail on detail and textures because the end result will be filtered (probably via "Smart Blur") to look watercolor in the end and will be essentially black and white (oh how I wish Tom Cat had a NPR Maya renderer for Mac OSX!!!!!) anyways, here's the head as a start, I know the glasses aren't much (any known tuts on modeling glasses out there?) I will be adding a body during this WIP. All comment/critiques more than welcome.

(maybe I shoulda stuck this under the focused critiques secton.)
Well, here's more on the model. Tomorrow I hope to have the hands done and begin adding some clothing wrinkles and such to the body. Until then, I'd love some sort of feedback.

Don't worry about the lack of replies. It certainly isnt a bad one, it just isnt so stunning that 5gajillion members storm your thread or so bad that people sympathetically the poor sop out.

Looking quite nice. Cant say the glasses strike me as what a modern business woman would wear, but thats cool.

Crit: the NECK (http://www.bartleby.com/107/Images/small/image1194.jpg). notice the muscle running from the termination point of the collarbone to behind the ear. You are missing this.

The coat is a bit shapeless, particularly in the chest and waist areas. There seems to be no tension befitting the slimness around the waist, while the bust is simply two bulges, that dont really reflect the hidden contents. Much can be fogiven because of the partially stylized nature of your model (which btw comes across quite nicely), but those to points seemed noticeably different from the quality of the rest.

I like the face, looks quite nice, and the lower leg:thumbsup: really good knees and calfs.

Will she ever take off the glasses? If so could you show us the eyes? And maybe a couple wires?

thanks I think doing that really helped make her head appear more attached to the neck  Unfortunately, Siggraph calls, and I won't be able to post my next update till after the conference.

After a wonderful break for Siggraph, here's an update. As always, C&C more than welcome.

It's looking great, I just believe her hands need some tweaking but I'm sure it is on your "to do" list already.

This last render really is a leap confronted to the previous full-body shot, it's looking great.

Hey man looks good! :applause: I agree though the hands may need some touching up, but everything else looks great. :buttrock:
