i don't have the right title this time. i inspired from several kungfu film. such as Ip Man, Ong Bak, Yamakasi. The last 2 film is not actually kungfu, but their martial art action inspire me a lot.
06-24-2009, 09:32 AM
good luck 4 everyone. cheers:cool:
06-24-2009, 09:40 AM
this is my character concept. he's mastered many empty-handed martial art.
i'm still don't have any idea for his costumes. i just dont want elegant costume such as tuxedo or any of that.
cnc are most welcome

06-24-2009, 04:19 PM
hi my friend, i like your moodboard(onk bak)the color palete on this image is great, probably try to adapt the color at least.the costum right now is to athletic i feel is not really fit, probably just casual design.and not showing the shoulder.the face is great.
06-24-2009, 04:28 PM
thank you for your comment. but i still understand about 'moodboard'. is it bout the 'ong bak' color scheme?
06-24-2009, 04:32 PM
yes! you are right.
06-24-2009, 05:44 PM
adding hoodie. trying to testing similar color scheme. not so similar.
i'll get in to it in the scene.
cnc are most most welcome
06-25-2009, 01:22 PM
trying in some scene. this image does not explain a lot i think. i want to make in some action. just a little preface, the agent, is comin out for sum action.
06-25-2009, 02:49 PM
Hi Louis,Very nice stufff. Waiting for more updates.
keep it up:beer:
06-25-2009, 04:27 PM
i'm still lookin for the best composition by making the storyboard 1 by 1.
06-26-2009, 02:00 AM
Looks great so far. That low angle shot is way cool... maybe change the poses of the guys after him or something. Show me more!
06-27-2009, 10:40 PM
Nice start mate!
already promising dynamism your picture.
06-28-2009, 02:48 AM
Nice start man! see you around. Good luck!
06-28-2009, 09:58 AM
This is a great scene you got here.. I love it. Can't wait to see the final results, take care for now.
06-28-2009, 10:39 AM
the last one, really good view looking forward for your next update.
06-28-2009, 01:35 PM
terraplex, madnesshamlet, rawgon, irawan: thanx yall, but i'm not gonna use the last scene. i'm still working on other scene. still looking the best. keep watching and comment.
06-28-2009, 05:35 PM
i didn't make the "landing" scene, cause it's not explaining anything for me.
06-28-2009, 05:37 PM
another view from a same scene.
07-02-2009, 07:04 AM
Software: Photoshop,Sketchbook Pro
still working on scene search. these 3 image are diferrent action and angle. but in the same place. need comment.
07-03-2009, 04:47 PM
None of your recent updates are as interesting, or dynamic, as your first sketch (the low angle, exterior street shot)
It needed some tweaks, but why not go with your first idea?
07-03-2009, 04:53 PM
@AJ: thx AJ, i'm personally prefer my 2nd scene in angle. but i want to show some more acrobatic. and i want to make the agent more detail (or not? i don't know it is doubtable)
07-03-2009, 05:20 PM
really hard to choose one :curious:,i ll say 'b', i just add 4 comp sketchs in my thread,im stuck with the comp, don't know wich one to choose.
07-03-2009, 06:32 PM
One my favorite movies. nice
I like scene 2, but maybe getting a close in shot of the character in action, maybe he's about to land on somebody or something with a move or jump, of course the guys will shrink a little from the distance.
I remember the motorcycle scene and also the scene where he leaps at the woman on the helicopter. I think having the character coming at the camera or from the camera would get that detail you want to get.
He could be at mid flight when jumping from building to building from his perspective. While being shot at by the bad guys, or maybe crashing through a window during a meeting from the bad guys perspective.
looking forward to more
07-03-2009, 06:36 PM
thanx ajani. wich one are your favourites movie? yeah, now i'm trying to make a little close up for the 2nd scene.
07-03-2009, 06:38 PM
ong bak is one of them. I hope to see more of his stuff.
07-03-2009, 06:41 PM
One of my old Cambodian friends showed the movie to me, Tony Jaa is ridiculously good
07-03-2009, 06:48 PM
yeah. tony jaa is damn great. i'm rewatching it movie right know. perhaps will find some great idea. hahaha. thanx.
07-03-2009, 09:09 PM
okay, i try to reverse the 2nd scene up side down to get the detail and the similar angle. just a rough sketch.
07-04-2009, 08:32 PM
just for explaining how is the action of 5th scene.
it's a storyboard for scene 5. and the 5th scene itself, use the last scene on this storyboard, from the bird eye view.
@ajani: i'm can't find any helicopter scene on ong bak. since theres no helicopter scene. lol. thx anyway.
07-04-2009, 08:35 PM
I love your style:applause: Sharp and crisp.
07-05-2009, 08:29 AM
thx joe for the comment.
07-05-2009, 11:11 AM
i'm make a pose study for the main character action. he do flying kick through the window and kick the enemy.
i change a bit from the original reference adapt to the scene.
07-05-2009, 01:03 PM
I like the pose in scene 4C he is in control, also like the bird eyes angle of scene 5.
There is a lot of dynamic in your sketches, keep it that way.
07-05-2009, 08:47 PM
Great sketches and eye for action. Following you through this and keep it up.
07-06-2009, 09:03 AM
this is my pose study for the bad guy. he's kicked out from the balcony by the main character.
07-08-2009, 06:19 PM
searching the best angle.
thx to AJ for the sketchup resources link.
07-08-2009, 06:21 PM
different angle, cropping and zooming
07-08-2009, 06:24 PM
same angle with 2nd angle, but in deifferent zooming and cropping
07-08-2009, 06:26 PM
Hi wick3dsono,nice sketches,i like your idea,i know its hard to find a dynamic view that will express exactly what you wanna show, your are doing a good job so far.
waiting for a more detailed sketch
Really great sketches and studies. Very dynamic compositions and scenes. I like a lot your scene 2 and 5. The last images have a great perspective, but think the action is a bit far. Maybe a more cenital camera position like in the sketch of scene 5, only a comment. Again, cool work!! Looking forward for more updates! Cheers!!
07-11-2009, 11:03 PM
number 2 is my favorite!

07-19-2009, 11:58 AM
you are busy man!go go go..!
20 days left.
hi ijur, tidak beres juga tidak di hukum kok!
i think the close up version is better, just change the camera and format to wide.
i love your sketch so far,
07-19-2009, 05:57 PM
si irawan ngomong ama gw berasa beda bangsa. hahaha.
thx irawan. will be on work soon.
oh shit! 20 days? i missread the deadline, i read the video deadline!!! aarrgghhhh
07-19-2009, 06:13 PM
great!i am looking forward for your next update.
need your input for my secret agent.
07-25-2009, 10:38 AM
hi all, after busy doing something else, at last i can continue this challenge, i hope can finish it. it;s about 2 week or less.
c n c are welcome.
07-25-2009, 12:06 PM
i'm not good at coloring, need many advice. a can't get the mood, like the many previous scene.
07-26-2009, 10:48 AM
try to coloring more on the background.
07-26-2009, 10:53 AM
Hey man, it's lookin good! I kinda see a night time shot with this one but i also think a super bright yellow-orange filter could look good, like cheesy old csi miami style lol.
:cool:Personally i reckon you should crop it a little further into a widescreen shot but u alredy know i looove widescreen:drool: so it's up to you really, but i do think widescreen might help make it look a tiny bitmore dynamic.
EDIT; u just posted orangey WIP as i was writing this so maybe u feel some things i suggested dont apply.
07-26-2009, 01:08 PM
This angle is dynamic! I think as long as you make the characters in a cool blue tone, it will really pop. c780162, is right that it might look great as a night scene, but I also think it gives a jackie chan "rumble in the bronx" feel as it is.
Can't wait to see the finished product.
07-26-2009, 02:25 PM
hi wick3dsono,nice to have you back!!good progress, try different colors,as c780162 said maybe a night mood would be nice, hope you will find the best colors for your image wich is very dynamic!one critique,is the guy in front(with black suit) be careful with his anatomy, doesn't look very correct right now,try to fix that
07-26-2009, 08:26 PM
@all:thx man, i really appriciate yall critique.
@c780162: thx, i'll try some night mood. bout the widescreen, mybe i'll try to crop it later when it's done.
@mario: thx, i'm not good at coloring, your suggestion was very helping.
@diisar: really? at where part?? i'm already using 3d model refernce. it's very helping to know it. thx.
NB:any night city refernce??? similar angle???
07-26-2009, 09:17 PM
coloring the character. its still a test color. try the night scene later. sleep first. lol
07-27-2009, 01:51 PM
here is the references:
quite simillar.goodluck my friend!
07-27-2009, 01:56 PM
great perspective and i like the colors! : )
i think the same scene at night would be too much matrix
07-27-2009, 04:06 PM
yeah, i'm liking what you've got so far, the fact it's based on parkour and those cool acrobatic/martial arts movies like "Ong bak" and so forth keeps viewers attention, you could easily ruin it by making it look too much like a scene straight out of the matrix movies, i do agree about the poses on the second composition, maybe you could play with those some more, otherwise nice and dynamic camera angles, mood and overall concept, looking forward to any updates
07-27-2009, 05:17 PM
@irawan:thx a lot friend, its really helping for sure.
@lucy.turm:thx, but its worth a try. maybe the matrix style is to greenish. i'll avoid that just in case.
@jastame:thx for the comment, how close my scene to matrix?? what second composition? do you mean the second person??
07-27-2009, 06:51 PM
trying the night mood just like yall suggesting. just some quick base color and lighting. not as detail as the orangey day mood. please give your comment and critique
07-27-2009, 11:19 PM
hi,looking nice, try to put a blue overlay or soft light layer on top of your image,to get the night mood colors, good luck
07-27-2009, 11:48 PM
I like this night setting better too, looking forward to more detailed sketches :)
07-28-2009, 07:19 AM
@diisar: thx, i'll try that.
@sanja: thx, i'll to detail it. i'm personally likes this night mood.
07-28-2009, 07:56 AM
trying more bluish overlay. just for comparation.
Nice atmosphere! like the lighting mood and colors :D Waiting for more updates! Cheers!!
07-29-2009, 04:52 AM
add some blue overlay, detailing and refine some.
@ferx: thx ferx. looking forward for your updates also.
07-29-2009, 04:55 AM
looks good! i like it! like the perspective, good dynamic.
07-29-2009, 06:40 PM
getting to the detail. 10 days more. just wish me luck to finish it in time. good luck to all.
07-29-2009, 06:45 PM
some closeup for the detail.
07-30-2009, 05:58 PM
refining the 3d model and make a clean texture. still basic color for some place.
anyway, ive change the pose a bit. need comment.
07-30-2009, 05:59 PM
the agent, change the pose.
Like the change in the pose, puts a more "leg punch" action :D, cool! And the red and warmer colors create a danger feeling on the image, nice touch for the atmosphere. Waiting for more updates ( really few days to the deadline :)) Cheers!!
08-01-2009, 08:41 AM
reminds me of bourne in morocco (bourne ultimatum). goood stuff!
08-02-2009, 03:19 PM
hehehe, sorry cerewet, sekedar masukan sih
08-03-2009, 10:51 AM
i think is not good idea to let him/the secret agent died,
he should hold something otherweis both will died.
give the agent more optimist expression and brave.
right now he is too much worry in his face.and take care the proportion because right now he is like a child.
give the color for the building slightly different.goodluck!
08-03-2009, 04:02 PM
@ferx: yeah, it's really close and i feel some "lazydevil" comes to me. just wish me finish ontime.
@moririn:thx for the comment.
@ijur:hahaha. cerewet lo. hahaha. thx. kalo soal warna emang ambil yang 7, n perspektif ambil yang 9, gw emang ambil ars klasik gitu, perspektifnya juga pake sketchup kok.
soal balkon, ge sengaja ilangin, rasanya susah nendang nabrak kaca, masi ngelewatin balkon minimal 70 cm, terlalu banyak hambatan. thx for the overall critique
@irawan:is it like a child?? thx for the critique. in my own concept personally, he doesnt die actually. based on yamakasi etc, he jump over and kick to the building. any suggestion for that??
08-04-2009, 04:28 PM
very slow progress indeed. feels like the lazydevil comes to me. lol.
some kind of regrets for the detail. i'm not that professional so, any ideas to finish it fast and nice(to me at least)
08-04-2009, 04:39 PM
just for comparation, i feel maybe its good if i put a little motion blur to the envi(thought before i applied that blur)
need comment for the blurry envi image. compare with the previous one.
08-04-2009, 04:45 PM
hi,your new image is better(with blur) try adding motion blur on the characters too, since they are in move.you can add light comming from the broken window, you can add haze on the top right side of your image to give depth of field
good luck my friend!!
08-04-2009, 06:09 PM
great progress man! i love it.
here a couple of my input/opinion:
.make the it more contrast on the image.
.you need more structure on the windows otherweis look like empty room.
.make the head position of your agent on the other side.
.if you want to add motion blur into your figure, just add slightly on the lower part.
.move the gun more up,not to paralel like now.
.just add dead person inside the room, to make better chronology.
.add people on the street(guy with the dog for example) and add antene parabol on the roof.
.add blood coming out from mouth of the bad guys.
hope those input help you a litle bit.
08-04-2009, 06:24 PM
diisar, irawan:thanks a lot. very much. your input are precious to me. some of them are already in my plan already.
anyway, any opinion to fight the lazy secret agent in my head!!!??
Cool updates. Think that Heri and Diisar make a really great suggestions about your image. I like the blur effect for the street, but ( Why ever be a "but" ? hahahaha :D) the feel of the blur is more like a higway, and the scale of the buildings ( look the bottom of the windows of the first building) dont match with that type of cars blur. I think Is a good idea to put some people down the street and a fast car crossing the street with blur but not much (maybe can be a police patrol or the bads black car :D). Perhaps you need to rise the background to cover the little part of the sky. That little part of the sky creates a extra negative space and distracts a bit the attention of the whole image. Only silly thoughts, donīt listen to me :) Cool work and time to apply the turbo boost to finish the image :) Cheers!!
08-05-2009, 04:48 PM
adding more details. dont feel good bout the gunfire. any suggestion?
08-05-2009, 05:22 PM
Hey wick3dsono, sorry about giving Irawan credit for your shadow comment... my bad:banghead:
Your image is looking awesome! I love the camera angle and sense of impending consequences for the characters. I feel your pain in working with the city buildings in the background. There is a ton of work there!!!
One thing that a lot of people suggested for the buildings and surfaces in my street scene was to add a lot of grunge and non-perfect surfaces. I figure you probably have that in your 'to do' list already.
Another thing that might add more mood and depth is to populate the balconies with objects like chairs, trash cans, tables, people (although they take time and I know time is premium right now). I'm trying to do the same thing.
One thing I was thinking as I looked at this and considering the time left, is that if worse came to worse you might be able to put in some really rough objects at the street and background levels and then do a fairly severe focal depth effect so that the foreground is in focus and the background blurs out... I really like the way this is heading though so I hope you have time to keep noodling.
Great stuff... drink coffee or energy drinks or apple juice... and keep going!!
08-05-2009, 05:23 PM
i like it,that's great!
08-05-2009, 05:28 PM
i;m forget to turn on the blue overlayin layer. her it is. lol
08-06-2009, 04:03 AM
hi,sorry for the delay,i was very busy at work!
your image looks way better now,try blurring the bottom street to give more depth, just a little bit, keep it up
good luck my friend!
08-06-2009, 04:32 PM
i don' t really sure, maybe it's final. any comment and critique are welcome.
the next update are the final.
08-06-2009, 07:03 PM
hi my friend, you are almost done, you still have some windows that are still 3d renders(no texture on it) try to work that out,the big broken glass you add near the agent looks weird
there is one more thing you can do,try making your canvas wider, juste make the canvas wider and stretch your background, you can keep the characters as they are now.
hope it will help improve your image and disturb the evil you have in your mind;)
08-06-2009, 08:12 PM
I agree with Younes about the windows. Some of them is looking like vector.
Another thing that could help is to put some depth of field, cause the image is all in focus.
Playing with blur and noise I think should help!
Other thing is the pistol, I didn't see it right away. Maybe you could put some more refletions to it or make a little brighter (just a suggestion).
I hope this could help you!!
But your work is great!
08-06-2009, 08:31 PM
andre, diisar: thx, i will work it out. still bout 2-3 days more right? bout widening the scenery, i'll try to, but not priority, since to paint that need more time. thx for supporting.
08-07-2009, 10:18 PM
add some blur, darken the blue... add more detail..
08-07-2009, 10:21 PM
Just PERFECT, man!
08-07-2009, 10:54 PM
the background is to much blur i would like to say,i hope you still have the old version.
and the building on the right side doesnt have to be blur because is closer to the camera.
but all in all great!congratz!
08-07-2009, 11:26 PM
Hi, I agree with Irawan, there seems to be too much blur. Looks really good though other than that. lots of action:)
Amazing concept you have going, great action, plus very unique style plus ongbak ref. is prob. perfect fit for the theme, but yea love the composition shot for this, it looks really good, cheers

08-08-2009, 05:29 AM
@tunes:thx andre, and for your help last night.
@irawan:thx, i'll try to fix it later. of course i still have the original. just in case.
@rupy:thx, you got a good action too.
08-08-2009, 09:47 PM
The world is in grave danger, there are more crime syndicates popping up by the minute. Law enforcers are helpless, infiltrated by corruption and betrayals
One man out of many people living a bitter life, lost everything he had in never ending wars. He took a decision to fight against them. He joined an world antiterror organization as an agent with incredible skills in martial arts. He gets secret information and disarms without any killing, he's nicknamed "Creed"
When he was assigned to take down one of the leaders of the biggest crime syndicate called seven serpents, his cover was blown, and he had to escape...
sharpen the blurry area a bit. and done. its ok, its deadline already, and i have other works to do. i'm satisfied.
special thanks to:
thanks for the opinion and critique from my partner at
and ofcourse from this CGsociety member.
wish you all luck!
