View Full Version : Can I cut in Wings?
Hexodam 07-23-2003, 02:41 PM I'm a max user and I'v been trying out wings for a while now, very impressed :D
what I love about modeling in max is to be able to cut, click on an edge, vertex created and click on another edge and a vertex created and an edge between them, anything like that in Wings?

hello Hexodam ! :thumbsup:
Yep into Wings is necessary to select two edge and press C;
It is all !! :buttrock:
P.S.
This case if you want to cut the face into two faces;
if u want more faces, select the edge and press 1,2,3... number keys (that indicates how many part u want to divide the face) and press C;
Enjoy !!!

not exacly what I'm talking about, with cut it just creates an edge in the center of the other edge, I want more control over it

H - there's a plugin that does exactly what you want to do (drawloop plug by clacos) - but it's not been updated for a while :(
In the meantime - Cut - RMB option will let you slide the new vert from 0% to 100% along the appropriate edge.
This has to be done one edge at a time - and you then have to select the new verts and use connect.
If you do one of these RMB Cut ops, then select your next edge and press either D or Shift + D (repeat last op / repeat last op with drag) - things can be speeded up a little :)
You need advanced menus on, btw.
