Latest Update: Final Image: Wedding Escape
06-13-2009, 12:30 PM
Good day/night Well here's my first post and challenge at this forum. This skech suppose to be the direction concept for my spy story. The idea is that a Spy called Jerrico retakes his wife ( spy also ) from Evil Genius hands at his wedding( the spy wife suppose to be married by force ) and now the action begins the Jerrico escapes with her in the highway with a sci-fi motorcycle but the evil genius squad is chasing them.
So i will look forward with this idea.
06-13-2009, 07:12 PM
wooooooooooooooooooo! :D .. looks like we have something in common! :p ... but goin in a different direction! :D .... all the best to you dude!
06-13-2009, 07:58 PM
I like you concept, nice sketch !
06-13-2009, 08:50 PM
Looks pretty good so far!
You might consider trying a landscape orientation for this piece. Your Jetpackers don't seem to need all the vertical space offered by the portrait orientation, and a landscape might let you stretch things out for a more dynamic, deeper perspective, and a greater sense of motion.
Just a thought. Looking forward to seeing it develop!
06-13-2009, 09:54 PM
Good concept. There a hard work at this idea! Good luck!
06-14-2009, 09:15 AM
Thanks for C&C people. I'll do my best to carry out the idea. Good luck at your projects!
06-14-2009, 12:05 PM
nice work going on. looking forward for more in ur thread :)
06-14-2009, 12:51 PM
I liked the action of scene!
06-14-2009, 05:15 PM
Yeah, this could be cool I think. Love the hovering agents in pursuit. Also lots of potential for an eye-catching background here.
06-14-2009, 10:38 PM
That's a very nice scene composition. I can't wait to see more. Cropping in a little closer to the main characters might help increase the intensity but then you'd lose the nice negative space you have going on.
In my opinion, my eye seems to gravitate more to the horizontal sign post than the main characters. Could be just me.
Keep it up,
06-15-2009, 03:25 PM
Well here's my first approach to the detailed view of the characters I'll be using, i think its going to be my final Agent concept. Seeing further for other characters at the moment.
wow thats awesome love the armour concept. hes definatly got character. :applause:
cant wait to see the finished thing
06-15-2009, 06:03 PM
Well here's another character design, Jerrico's wife. The KB limit drives me crazy so i'm sorry for draft quality.
06-15-2009, 09:28 PM
Just going from strength to strength, great job man.
06-15-2009, 09:33 PM
Good luck dude :)
06-15-2009, 09:50 PM
Thanks for your mental support people! Now considering about the Jetpackers and Sonic-Cycle concepts. Actually I don't even know if I'll finish everything on time couse it's going to be a lot of stuff in the scene, but mainly is to have fun.
06-15-2009, 10:00 PM
Some cool stuff going on here. Like the theme and dynamic of the initial composition sketch. Really looking forward to seeing this progress! Good luck with it!
06-15-2009, 10:45 PM
Look forward to this one. :lightbulb
06-16-2009, 09:56 AM
Some brainstorming on how the jetpacker will look like.
06-16-2009, 10:22 AM
seems like there gonna be a lot of action in this thread! cool concepts so far!
nice sketches! Keep going!
06-17-2009, 05:02 AM
arnoldas!! aweseome designs and sketches!! its beautiful work in the making, can't wait to the see the bike chase!! this is going to be fantastic stuff gl man, love it!!
06-17-2009, 06:31 AM
WoW .. Great work man ..
Keep it up ,I agree With Kaelion about foucasing on the main character to avoid the space behind it ... but not to much cause we also need an enviroment
Good luck man u have got my vote from now ( if there was a voting :-) )
06-17-2009, 11:56 AM
Man, i didn't expected such a support, i hope i won't disappoint you people. Actually the initial composition is focusing at the foreground characters but maybe i did not showed it correctly, I'm gona change it a bit during the progress. Now seeing further for last remaining concepts before the modeling phase.
06-17-2009, 12:51 PM
wow i like the helmet from ur frist post. =). I like the contrast of how item/pack intensive the guy character where as the lady character is simply dressed =).
06-17-2009, 02:25 PM
Very dynamic. Nice
like Spyndel (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=353178): wonder if a horizontal approach would work? just wondering.
Wonder if we can get closer (or the actors) to the camera?
06-17-2009, 02:55 PM
I just want to say : amazing sketches ! love it ^^
06-17-2009, 02:56 PM
Ok I see, I'll try to straighten those later.
06-19-2009, 09:36 AM
One of my pre-last (if i can say so) concept art before the actual modeling begins.
06-19-2009, 10:25 AM
nice concept! really like the motorcycle it looks just like what i imagined that one day i would drive :applause: keep going
06-19-2009, 10:28 AM
that's a nice bike
06-19-2009, 01:12 PM
I really like the wife outfit/design.
oooo now thats a reay sweet ryde. the design realy works ergonomicaly... if only the technologie existed to make it a reality. ide buy one....
looking forward to the finished thing.
06-19-2009, 01:34 PM
Very cool "cycle" design! The bad guys look great too - too bad we won't see much of their backs, it's some nice design on their jet packs!
06-19-2009, 02:23 PM
Wow good stuff so far. Definately looking forward to how this will go!
One thing Im missing as to the picture-idea is to show why he is fleeing. Maybe hint something in the backdrop. RIght now Im seeing the picture more like a speeding ticket is at stake and maybe he loosing his "awsomelooking-yet-bike-of-madness"-flying-license:scream:.
06-19-2009, 02:41 PM
I really like the story. really nice models and concepts keep it up.
06-19-2009, 02:57 PM
Mhmm, i think i understood the idea aghill, you mean that the biker does't look like he is flying, am i right? I'll try to fix the initial picture later. Thank you guys for support. : )
06-19-2009, 06:47 PM
hey, amazing concepts so far, really looking forward for the modeling stage!
06-19-2009, 07:31 PM
WOW! Thatīs what i call a big entry:eek:
Everything looks fantastic and well thinked...I especialy enjoy very much the scene sketch. Looks like a sci fi masterpiece , Mate.
But the characters are truthfully outstanding. The guy wearing the soldier tech suit rocks!
Looking foward ...
06-19-2009, 07:58 PM
Rear of the final Jetpacker concept.
06-19-2009, 08:00 PM
Front view of the final jetpacker concept.
06-19-2009, 08:08 PM
Finally i finished the biggest part of the concept art stage, and from now on it's time to take some 3d modeling. Hopefully I'll finish everything on time. Thanks for your replies guys.
Nice Mecha concept man! Really like how it looks, hopefully it will turn out good in the end.
If you make the eyes of the Mech about half the size of what they are now, he will look more menacing (donno if you wanna go that route) Give it a try. :)
06-19-2009, 11:41 PM
Where can I buy one of those bikes??
06-20-2009, 01:31 AM
nice updates buddy. really cool sketches and concept bike.
will follow ur thread for more updates. keep it up.
06-20-2009, 01:45 AM
great stuff uve got there,i like the bike design and the jetpacker, looks like they happen in the minority reports era:D
06-20-2009, 01:53 AM
Awewsome!! Very nice style:)
06-20-2009, 01:42 PM
man, loving your designs. just put your portfolio in my favourites :D in advance of incoming awesomeness. haha :)
keep up the great work!
06-20-2009, 03:24 PM
Man, have no words, thats what I call support. XIA, actually it's not a Mecha it's more like a guy fitted in some kind of a metal gear/exoskeletal/jetpack suit. Thanks people once again. Hope the final work won't be dissatisfying.
06-20-2009, 05:42 PM
Cool Sci-Fi stuff.
It should all come together nicely.
I would suggest that you try to distance your
designs from the source material for the final image.
keep up the good work.
06-25-2009, 08:42 PM
At last I'm slowly putting a detail pass over the base mesh. Here's the upper part of the Jerrico.
wow this is a great thread. all of your concept work is amazing! and great start on the modeling also. goodluck, i cant wait to see more progress.
06-29-2009, 05:45 PM
Final Jerrico model.
06-29-2009, 05:49 PM
Finally I finished modeling the Jerrico model, now started working on Sonic Cycle.
07-05-2009, 10:06 PM
Working forwards, this is the semi-final model of the Sonic-Cycle/Bike, still missing some finish/details, anyways it's mainly done.
07-05-2009, 10:07 PM
Here's the back of the Sonic-Bike
07-05-2009, 10:48 PM
Everything here look absolutely great here :) Designs and modelling are excellent.
07-06-2009, 08:43 AM
really great stuff!! Can't wait to see more!
07-11-2009, 08:35 PM
Love it, great concept and top notch nodelling thus far, could be onto a winner, keep us posted!
That's a really cool bike you have there. Great stuff!
07-12-2009, 02:31 PM
At last, I almost finished the character modeling stage. I'm runnin as fast as I can on this piece, hope I won't get lost before the deadline. Thanks for feedback people.
07-12-2009, 03:27 PM
Ohoh! This is looking sweet! Great stuff!!:applause:
07-12-2009, 06:15 PM
Lots of great work so far! Two things that bug me, tho: Jerrico's mouth corners, they look just wrong, like theres something under his skin around the whole mouth. Second thing is the jetpacker's armour - the forearms. They look bit plain and 'accidental' compared to the rest of the model.
The sonic bike is sweet, I can even imagine the sound it could make when zipping past :)
07-12-2009, 06:42 PM
azazel, thanks for your notice, well Jerrico needs more sculpting on his face and overall when I seat him on the bike, gonna take some references for that one. :hmm: Looks like the jetpacker will need some more refinement and details on his forearms. And yeah, the sound would be deafening... i think. Zeoyn, thanks for your good words will need them :D .
07-21-2009, 04:03 PM
Finally , I finished messing out at least with one character. It's the final model and textures. Now working on remaining models texturing, before I put everything into one composition. I must to hurry up a bit THE DEADLINE IS COMING.
07-21-2009, 04:05 PM
Here's the back.
07-21-2009, 04:16 PM
nice work!i like the model, looking really nice, keep it up!
07-21-2009, 05:32 PM
great looking character. Good luck! ;)
07-21-2009, 05:51 PM
Love your designs. Know i can't wait to see your final image! congratulaion ^^
07-21-2009, 06:00 PM
Great model you have here :) And the textures are nice too.
07-22-2009, 01:26 PM
Yes ! He is so great !
Nice design !
I like your modeling and shading.
My challenge post (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=291&t=786243)
07-31-2009, 12:08 PM
This one is the quick environment and composition preview i made recently, with a fast backdrop paint and average character positions. At the moment I'm detailing the environment and making the textures for it. As you can see I changed the camera orientation to landscape differently from initial skech to put more room for the main characters in the foreground, the vertical composition did not worked as i expected, it putted sort of statical look to everything. So hopefully i'll finish to before the deadline...
07-31-2009, 01:32 PM
I like it!
There are two minor issues:
- one of the jetpackers is bisected by that horizontal signpost, looks like he just crashed into it ;)
- I think some space ahead of the bike would help - just somewhere for him to go.
Good luck :)
07-31-2009, 01:44 PM
Hey azazel, originally that guy is really crashing at the signpost XD, just its not clearly showed at this pre-viz (look at the first skech), will need some more refinement. I'll gonna add some debris and sparks at that area later when i will render the image. And yeah i'll add that, it really looks a bit claustrophobic, thanks. :)
07-31-2009, 02:04 PM
I have one opinion on your Composition Blockout (your latest image)
I think it would be cool if you had the guy flying on the far right getting hit by the lazer gun the guys holding thats fleeing. I would like to see you have him getting hit in the stomach flying out of the scene. I think this would add more dramatization to your image and showing a little more action even though there is a ton in this shot already!
Thats my peace Ill be keeping an eye on this thread keep up the great work! :applause:
07-31-2009, 08:20 PM
Great stuff :) I don't know if it's intentional, but I think the flying men look a bit funny flying around :)

At the year 2058, dark and evil times when the whole world is dependent from weapons. The corporation SWS (special weaponry systems) developing future destruction powers, is trying to monopolize the whole earth. Now they were working on next generation weapon project nicknamed dragon-fly, a heavily armored jetpacked battle suit unit. These may be the full war field power, against it's rivals. But the company chairman known as "War Genius" is a lonely man hidden within shroud of darkness. So the spec-ops agency decided to infiltrate they're woman agent Nicole to get closer to War Genius and sniff for the plans. After a few months the war genius decided to marry her, it looked like the plan which were planing the spec-ops vent well, but this was an ambush. So to rescue the agent spec-ops sent special agent Jerrico (Nicoles man). Fortunately they escaped from the wedding, but War-Genius sent his dragon-fly prototype units to get rid with the agents. Now they must to escape from the city and call for reinforcements. This a scene showing the escape from the city.

Congratulation,great final image.

Hello guys, really cool pieces of art are showing up. Finally I uploaded the final image via CGUploader. I didn't post a few days due to my internet connection problems. I'm pretty happy with the final result, even it could always be better.
DontBlinkx182x -> Yeah, it was a cool idea, but unfortunately the character models (The wife and the Agent) were modeled before the pre-viz so It was to late for big changes to the whole composition, anyways thanks for support.
MartinNielsen -> Well... Hmmm... I Don't know :D I think it's how each of us interpretate this stuff. Literally speaking these guys aren't finished yet couse they are prototypes, there are no perfect prototypes. :D So there could be some fun behaviours on them. Thanks for your notice!
Irawan-> Thanks! Your entry is awesome! Cheers!
A BIG BIG BIG THANKS, to all those people who dropped by and gave me feedback and support I really appreciate that. And GOOD LUCK on judging to everyone!
