View Full Version : Wings WIP: Peugeot 206
mpatton 07-23-2003, 07:09 AM Well, here's something I'm currently working on in Wings, hoping to get some suggestions to help improve it.
I'm modeling (trying to, anyways :p ) a Peugeot 206, similar to this one here:
Car Shot (http://homepage.mac.com/mpatton1/PugRef.jpg)
Here's a shot out of Wings:
CarWire (http://homepage.mac.com/mpatton1/CarWire4.jpg)
And an older render:
RenderTest (http://homepage.mac.com/mpatton1/CarR.jpg)
Any suggestions you might have would be more than welcome. Thanks in advance :D

Cooooool! :applause:
Excelent work! :buttrock:
What are you using to render it? (or will use?)
Keep it up! I hope to see the final render :D

wow, very nice modeling. i do see some improvements though. most of the model is not proportional to the pic(is that your referance pic?) like the wheel wells stick out to far and the windows dont have a flow line to them. pull the top of the windshield down a little and flatten it on the y axis so it runs horizontal a little more. besides that you did an excellent job. please keep posting updates.

Thanks for the comments, all :D Really appreciate it.
JPGargoyle: I'm using Strata Base to render. Thanks for the support
icr82nz: Thanks, this is just the kind of comment I am looking for. Good to hear suggestions to help improve the model. I made a couple (small) changes:

About the front windshield though, I'm not sure why it should be more flattened? Based on the reference I'm using, it should be around the steepness I have it at. Compare:

And the reference image. (http://homepage.mac.com/mpatton1/CarRef.jpg)
Maybe I'm overlooking something. Anyways, thanks again, and I'll be looking forward to some more suggestions :)

Cool!
Keep it up!.
I just think you could add another light (weaker) to the last pic, from the side of the camera just to light the side of the car a little more.
The shadows on the door just hide some details and you can hardly see the rear of the car.
Great work!

Thanks again for the comments, guys
icr82nz: Looks like you're right on both those things. I'll go back into Wings later tomorrow and see about fixing that up.

Don't worry, the blue is only temporary. Got tired of seeing the grey :p

Well, I dug up this model the other day, tweaked it a bit and gave it a new new render.

Modeled in Wings, of course, textures drawn in Photoshop, rendered in Strata 3.02. Thanks to Larry Travers for the trees used in the first shot.

your front of the hood is pushed to far back and down... You need some more shots of the car for the front for sure.
