We are looking for a self motivated, talented artist that is familiar
with 3DS Max and UVW Mapping and Unwrapping.
We are an independent Game Development Company called Electrofiction www.electrofiction.com . How would you like to be a part of a company that is starting up and help build it from the ground up (Creatively)? We are currently working on a game called "Shadows of Winter" (soon to be for sale on our site and hopefully on store shelves (under negotiations w/ Microsoft). What makes us unique is, we have allot of corporate support: Gas Powered Games (developer of Dungeon Siege), Microsoft, Daz 3D (Online 3D Model provider) and a huge online community. We are looking for people who love video games and that are self motivated. Our current project (Shadows of Winter) is almost complete. We are at the stage where we are putting our characters in the game engine. This is where you come in.
If you feel up to it, let us know. Our company has been in magazines such as "Computer Graphics World" and soon we will be in the magazine "Post".

is this a paid position? sounds like it should be in the other forum for paid positions. maybe a mod can move it for you.:)

No, this is not a paid position. We are a bunch of artists that are deep into the production of this game, working on it on our spare time.

well if this is a for proffit project, why do you expect people to do work for you for nothing?? maybe you didn't see the sticky at the top of this forum, but this is a no no.:thumbsdow

Sorry if you misunderstood but we are in negotiations to have this project BECOME a profit project.
We are not making any money from this game at all at the moment. If and when we make any kind of profit off of this project, all involved party will be compensated fairly.

promises of riches... same old story heard it before. This forum was created so artist can come together and create artwork together. It is not a place to find cheap/free labor.

Awsome, you must have an online lie detector. wish i had one of those. Maybe they should bring Kobe Bryant to talk to you....or maybe O.J. Simpson. You can crack the case wide open.
Oh and by the way, since you are so convinced our mod team is making money, you better contact Gas Powered Games because the game we are working on (Shadows of Winter(a mod)) is a game that is based on their Dungeon Siege engine. Making money by using someone else's game engine is a no no. So go go go hurry up and turn us in.....get your reward.

well when you make these comments about how your goal is to make it into a for profit project what do you mean?
More power to you, but you were very misleading with all your talk of negotioations, and magazine articles..... and never a mention that it is a mod. Also when you say that you want to sell it on your web site, sounds like more than a mod. Ever here of a mod for UT called Tactical ops? They did just what your team is trying to do. they created a mod that was then sold and put into store shelves. You should check into that mod cause there was a huge problem at the end, many people who helped build the mod were not included in the proceeds.... don't follow there lead that way.
moral of the story, say it is a mod from the start. Lots of confusion would have been avoided.
I would say to anyone willing to work under these conditions, make sure to get a contract stating if the mod is sold you will be rewarded.

actually there have been MANY people come here trying to get something for nothing.... not allowed, not nice, and certainly not professional.
I am just sort of sick of all the leaches. :shrug:
