Our final assignment for my drawing courses.
We have to design a tribe linked to an animal. (Quetzal).
It's has to be a tropical South american tribe. Ideas are welcome of course.
We have to design one female character and one male character.
The deadline is in 8 days :/ it's gonna hurt people hehe
comments and critics are more then welcome!

Some new color studies and silhouette designs.
I've got some feedback from my docent, he adviced me to make my designs more livable (give it a history, a location, a reason to live, ...) so i had to put more story in to it.
So I decided to make a brother sister relationship between the two characters I'm going to design.
So I deceided to let the tribe live in trees (higher location = more muscles as child)
These are for the brother (age around 20). I really Like A and B (they have a strong silhouette).
D is also looking nice but I think it looks too much like a super-hero in the silhouette lol.
Feedback en critics are welcome.

Some more detailed concept search for my male character.
He has now more of a backststory, the mother died during 'the great fire' when two tribes where in war.
Tueq (the male character) has burned tissue because of that, this happend when he was 8-7 years old.
He has a great fear for fire because of this trauma. He's wearing some left overs of the clothes of their mom. That he uses to hide a part of his burned tissue.
He's now around his 20's, young and looking for a female for starting a family, ...
and so on :)
Comments and Ciritcs are welcome.

Hi.
Nice concepts.
Maybe you should try to variate with more elements.
Curious wat the finals will look like!
Greetings.

Deodatus:
Thanks again for all the feedback of the past days, it really boosted up my concept.
So after tons of sketches and test drawings...
here are the final body-sketches, the female is still a little dirty, but I'm going to clean that up later. I'll post the face-sketches later.
I'm going to start rendering in photoshop, deadline is tomorrow. I hope I get a decent end-result, painting ain't my strongest side, so hints are welcome!
and also feedback and ciritcs are welcome :)

New render update:
I'm surprised at the current result. I tried out the render techniques that we learned from 'Jens Claessens' (concept artist). (he was a special guest in our school who gave some painting workshops.)
The female face is still too deformed but i'm working it out :) and little by little I'm working out the sketch lines.
Critics and comments are more than welcome.
Tonight I'm going to start texturing the guys. I hope it will give a nice effect.
