tnemeth-

This is pretty fun, I love robots. Also, I love robots holding regular guns. The only quivel I have is with the head of your robot. Granted, its just a matter of your taste versus mine, but the head isn't very menacing. It almost seems to me like something of a star wars droid head - meaning silly and not cool.

If thats what you're going for, then sweet, but just thought I'd give ya an honest critique on yer first post.

Keep workin' at it, cause you're off to a great start.

There maybe some other issues but the only thing that bothered me was that the inside of the gun barrels are really bright. They should be dark shouldn't they? Right now it almost apears as though the inside of the barrels are chrome as well as the outside. Other than that I like the image alot.

Nice work. A few things bother me though. It looks like the sand benieth the robot is made out of caramel jello-pudding or something. It just kinda smoooooooths and bubbles. If you wanna get some good concepts on sand and how it forms around points of pressure watch Dune. I'm just sayin that cause i'm a Dune fiend, but do it anyway. DO IT! And being a robot myself I have to say that the appearance of your model gives off a supped-up, gun toting, desert kangaroo robot feel. Which is actually kinda screwwed up in a cool way. So tinker with it. For a first character, its very well done.

i'd work on the composition. it's boring at the moment. the robot is in the center pretty much and pointing his guns at the viewer. why? what's he doing?

and the angle of the shadow is kinda weird as well. you have a nice long elongated shadow and it's hidden behind the model.

also he's standing in the middle of the desert yet there arent any footprints leading to where he's standing.

maybe pose him at a different angle with his guns pointing offscreen. and some footprints leading in that direction like he's following someone. otherwise the whole shot makes no sense.

and the mountains with the clouds this close to a barren desert like this.. doesnt quite make any sense. =)

great job on the modeling and texturing.

It might just be the angle of the shot, but it looks like his right leg is actually dipping into his hip area.

i like it all but the head, it needs more character, pretty cool though:cool:

"hands up" nice design, but the robot looks like he's walking on a big fudge cake. or jelly.. maybe some sand wind ill do the effect? i dunno.. maybe its just me.

Great work!
I feel the weight of the machine, and it's absolutely good! It' s very important.
