We are proud to present a new internet community dedicated
to Autodesk Softimage software, called si-community
(you can find it at www.si-community.com)

While we are fully aware of the fact, that there seem to be plenty internet communities/forums/mailing lists/message boards dedicated to Softimage, we feel there is still room for this upstart community.

We are in an early stage of development and we're very much open for suggestions, as we strongly feel any community should be shaped primarily by its members, not merely by its original creators!
Suggestions to improve our website are always welcome, but the only way to truly get this community going is by joining it and joining in. So hopefully, we'll see you at www.si-community.com

That is great news! It looks and feels more familiar.

I will definitely make use of your forum.

So much better than the AREA!!

Thanks a lot!

Will logins from xsi-forum.de transfer to this page, or do I need to re-register?

Yeah, I like all the resources on the area site, and it looks all slick and nice (well to someone I'm sure) until you're on the forums...ugh..all those bars of weird gradient...

It's kind of like in design 101 when they tell you "Stop segregating things into boxes and areas to make things seem more or less important..." - maybe they missed that class?

It might seem like a small thing to people...but it's bugging the living H-E-double hokey sticks out of me!

THANK YOU for another alternative to XSIbase and cgtalk!

Good luck with the forums, and I hope you guys did your homework well on bw and software.
If it takes off you might be looking forward to quite some traffic, and things can get expensive at that point (ask Raffel D, XSIbase founder, what it was like for a while and why they had to pull AWN in at some point :) )

I just registered - Looks nice!

Having a myriad of forums to watch is a bit tricky, but I guess it's pretty much the same where you post, if the same people are reading the conversations anyway :)

Hi -

I'll also keep an eye out on your new community forums, in case any issues pop up. I did read everyone's comments about the look and usability of the AREA, which i will share with the community team.

As always, if you do have an issue that does require someone from Autodesk's attention, like support questions, etc. it is best to post on the AREA, where the Softimage forums are read on a regular basis by support, product marketing and more.

If there ever is somthing you think I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Thanks -
jen

An email with, "The Softimage people hate every aspect of it." ought to do it :p

Seriously though, thanks for your support Jen.

As for the new forum- joined. I like the look of the new forum, so I'll be interested to see how things go.
