Hi i need some help rendering leaves in zdepth or some alternate solution, the leaves uses alpha channel to show up on tree but in Luminance depth render it renders as square planes...see images attached

if you are using luminance depth in render layers in maya 2008 or less you have to select the surface shader that is assigned to the layer and expand its input outputs in hypershade what you see is a setrange which has outputx connected to outcolor rgb.so all you gave to do is to select the shader and in AE turn it into a lambert material with zero diffuse value and connect the outputx of setrange node to its ambientcolor rgb then connect the transparency map to its transparency but if you have shake i recommend rendering beauty in iff with z channel on and then dealing with z in shake using keydepth node wich is much more controlable and does'nt need extra erndering layer....goodluck
