Scale skelet problem


Here is my problem:

I have a model that is bind to a skeleton. Now, I want to scale a model
so I than group a skelton so I could scale a model. Than I come to
a problem, I want to unperent skelet from group because I don't need it.
Maya want let me do that if I don't frezze group transforms but I can't
do that becaus I have animation on skelet. When I break all connections(keys) on
bones than I can frezze group and than I can unperant my skelet.

Is there a way around and why Maya do this?

You're probably better off just leaving the group node, I don't think its that big of a deal. If you ever need to scale your rig again you already have your group right there. Also I think if you ever need to unbind the geometry you may run into some problems if you don't have that node.
