View Full Version : Maya 5 IK difference...

I used to do a technique for rigging feet that involved grouping all the IK's for one foot together, and adding all controls to that group.

I tried doing this same technique in Maya 5, and when I moved the hip node of my character, the IKs didn't react like they're supposed to.

I attempted changing the value of that new IK weight attribute, to no avail, I even tried keying just about everything in order to have it work - no go.

It works just fine if I'm grabbing the feet, but it doesn't seem to solve when I grab the hips.

Has anybody come across this?

I'd like to get back into some animating, but I can't get this rig to work properly!

Annoying!!

:annoyed:

not sure if this is what you're looking for

i realized that the sticky attribute has a different affect then it was. usually set to sticky or group the ik was the same. now (the version i worked with) it isn't. try to set the ik's to sticky.

Thank you very much!

Merci Beaucoup!

Domo Arrigato!

Now there seems some point in actually finishing my weighting!
