So just managed to persuade my boss to upgrade us to Vue 7.5 so we could use it inside max with Vray and when I switch from mental Ray to v-ray the image just renders black.... brilliant....

Anyone got it working yet?

Do you have the latest version of V-Ray (SP3 or SP3a)?

Best regards,
Vlado

Yep tried it with V-Ray SP2 and SP3a.

Tried it on another machine almost identical appart from ATI graphics card and just attempting to load a new scene or open a scene in max crashes max.

Another bug ridden-release from Eon....

What version did you upgrade from? If it was 6, Vue now uses a two pass render with the first render resulting in black skies. The second pass then fills in the sky and adds more light to the overall scene.

For those like me who are confused as to why I just get black renders when I switch to Vray, unlike with Mental Ray you have to add in the xsteamVray atmosphere in your Envirmonet and effects dialog in 3dsmax.

Ta da, and it works!
