Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I am having with maya? I am using deep exploration to convert some 3d max meshes I have done in the past into maya format. They seem to convert ok - but the scale of them is huge and when I try to zoom my view out, the meshes disappear as if going through a plane in the background. I have tried just importing as 3ds files but I am getting the same problem. This is happening in any view - perspective, front etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Iain

You can do two things to help you. The first is to scale the object(s) down so they fit in the view. Also you can bump up the clipping plane for your camera. Just select your camera and open up the attribute editor. Raise the far clipping plane value up from the default, I think it is 1000, up to something like 5000. Sometimes you will also need to lower the near clipping plane down from .1 to .01 or .001.

Many thanks for that dmcgrath. Tried the clipping frame settings and it works fine :applause:

Thanks again.
