View Full Version : Robot Spider
nacire 07-21-2003, 09:54 PM This is another model Im working on right now, just wanted to know what some people thought! It's been used in a couple small animation projects but nothing really final. I'll post these that are shaded views but not final in anyway.

Excellent dude. Love the way his legs fold out. Post a wire!

Hey this is an impressive model and it looks great with the metal shader you're using. Is there any way to get a look at the animation you mentioned?

I think it looks really cool nacire:thumbsup:
I'm a little unclear as to how the legs unfold and where they come from. they don't really look like they are coming out of a slot or anything that could hold them while the spider is compacted in the abdomen.

The legs are more of a trick than actually fitting in the body. With the shot I got of the transformation it worked and I didnt really have the time to work it out otherwise. Maybe Ill go back and fix them if I have the time.

Well, good luck. I'm not exactly sure how to do it, but you might be able to have them just folded underneath the head section so they slide into the abdomen too.

Awesome model (the detail (s3.jp)is amazing!), and you've got the movements down pat, as far as spiders behave (attention to detail, like having the hind most pair of legs point back at the web line, is what helps to make it all believeable :) )
Can't help with the unfolding of the legs, but unless the scene requires that particular shot, I'd say you can get away withought it :)
keep up the good work!
