Does anyone know of a tutrial for creating those web interfaces that are seen everywhere on the internet these day>? example
www.phanton.net/intro.html

I am a noob that just needs a lil push start. If some has a quick explanation that would be cool too....BTW I am using max 5

Hmm, I'm not sure what you are talking about, the page that the link goes to has nothing 3d on it ... so perhaps you are lost and can't find your way. Try Fireworks or Photoshop.

that glassy interface is what was done in 3ds I talked to the creator at a forum and that was his answer here is another example http://www.electrongeek.net/main.html (c4d)

I know I could replicate these with ps7 but if someone knows of a tut or an explanation on how to go about it in 3ds I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok I think I understand now.

Its done in macromedia director. There is a link on the bonus cd which comes with max. Basically you animate in max then export to director, where you add the interactivity using lingo scripting.
Then to get it on the web you export to shockwave.

Thats as much as I know.

Or, like the rest of us do it, you render out your animated parts, save them out in PS using the PNG filetype for better control in Flash over tranparency with the benefits of jpeg compression, and import them into Flash as animated sequences, use pixel-vevel snapping to position your movie-clips where you want them, or animate them as well.... it's up to you.

Check the "Trio" tutorials that come with Flash, as this topic is talked about in them lightly.

Also try www.flashkit.com , www.werehere.com , www.ultrashock.com for interviews, tutorials, and Flash/Director/Macromedia-specific forums that cover this topic in DEPTH:)

Good luck!

As a side note i'd mention that i think, might be wrong, but really think that this http://www.electrongeek.net/main.html interface was made out of vectors, does not look that much 3d to me (talking about the interface, not the works or images that can be seen). Achieving a "3d" look is somewhat easy using gradients, be it in Ps or Illustrator (or Flash for that matter), as well as faking 3d effects and stuff (well, depends on the effect, of course).

I don't do much web stuff, but if you wanted to do that(what I saw in your second link) in max, you could just model the pieces, and alpha channells, then take them into some other program to animate and add effects. At least from what I saw, the weren't moving in any way other than linear, it's not like they are rotating. Just my 2 cents:beer:
