This is my final for the Animation 2 class at Ex'pression College. The Sergio rig is being used here for this scene. The story is about Spicoli, your average pizza delivery guy, taking his next delivery to an unknown place. He has to take an elevator to floor "666"....

I was the animator and lighter for this scene. It was done in Maya, and rendered using Mental Ray.

The Sergio rig can be found here:

-EDIT: All Comments and Critiques are welcomed as I'd like to use this piece for my demo reel.

Neat concept. I think two things could have made it even better. One; the part where the doors open if he had shrieked it would have been good..or a more dramatic reaction anyways. And two; if he were not to smile right before he faints it would be better too. Maybe instead of smiling if he were to look more exhausted like it was psychologically draining.

I pretty much agree with the above post, though I did like the expression on the characters face once he was out. The biggest gripe I had was that the voice actor was yelling but not yelling. That might be a byproduct of the location where the recording was made though. For example I can't exactly scream help in my apartment without possibly spooking the neighbors.

@chillnlikeamug (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=51682) Cool thanks for the advice. I wanted to time that reaction just so things would not be overlapping with each other. I was advised for an action---> reaction sort of work flow. But I will expand on his response. Also, I added that smile to see if anyone would pay attention for it, but thanks for pointing it out.

@OrinCreed (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=287099) Right on. I agree with you and the sound. I recorded myself for the voice and foley work at home. I didn't want my neighbors freaking out about me. What I should have done was to have a red light outside with a neon sign: "Recording in Session!"

@Jokerxel: I can't tell you how many times I've had to redo voice work for school projects because of situations like that. What a pain. Still liked it though. :)
