it really makes me mad! When i try to re-open a Premiere file i made, it sometimes shows all my footages with a "-1" name. and all the stuff i´ve made into it its gone! ITs really hard to work this way! why does it does stuff like this? i´m using premiere6.5 on winXp

Premiere has been doing that since I started using it in version 4.2. One of the reasons why I left premiere in the dust and never came back. Their media management and relinking of files is almost nonexistant or broke.

If you're willing to spend a little more money, then I'd recommend buying Avid Xpress DV

At the moment, Xpress DV is about £760 (that's UKP) compared to Premiere's £300 (ish, that's a complete guess)

Avid Xpress DV has the same basic interface as other Avid systems, so if you're looking to move up, it's a great way to learn the bigger systems.

Other low-end systems (I've not used any of them) are:
Final Cut Pro (Mac only - I'm sure you've heard of it - if you've got a Mac, then this is the program to use for editing)
Vegas Video (I've seen a lot of people saying how good it is - never used it myself)
Pinnacle Edition (Heard that the pinnacle stuff is good, again, not used it)

If you see a future for yourself in editing, then I'd go Xpress DV - if you want to edit professionally, then you pretty much have to know how to use Avid systems.
