Here a little thing i'm making for a 3d contest about pirates.
But i need some professional advice.

I have 3 general ideas about the shot, which one should I pick:

(dont mind the aliasing and colors on image 2 and 3, the general idea is that they become like image 1)
Texturing also needs some work

Image 1: Normal angle

Image 2: strange angle

Image 3: strange angle with cactus

I'm thinking about adding some stuff like a broken rowboat or an animal skeleton in the sand or should i just keep it plain and simple?

c&c very welcome

how did you get those 2 lower shots? are they camera lens effects? or is it just a lower camera angle?

an old fence with barbedwire around the top would look good :)

nope, the camera there is a 15mm camera with a 77 degree fov en a spherical lensprojection

So now I'm adding some extra props and i'm thinking about a fence but i think it wil maby stand too much in front of the house because of the camera angle

i don't believe in desert sandstorm won't affect your building... everything s too clean, so new and just-collocated... antenna, for exmpl should be a bit inclinated or bended, wood should be dirty and somewhere nailed, banner teared, and so on...
is there anybody living in there? why no car, motorcycle, helycopter, or anything else? do they move by feet? no track print on sand...

there's so much to do...

I think the clouds detract from the stylized dessert scene you have here. They are too detailed and crisp. I would either soften them up alot (Which I don't think would look good) or get rid of them completly.

I do like the style alot!

I saw your work on tweakers to, and also at 3dhype.com!! you're posting along! Nice one. Maybe add some trash. Empty beer cans, or overloaded litterbins. A "was lijn" with clothes on it. Make it livable for a pirate! Create some tire tracks from a motor or a desert vehicle. Some adds ;-)
