View Full Version : Ninja Escape
Serashi 05-31-2009, 11:55 AM Hi,
Here is an animation that i started to test out my rig and trouble shoot the rig. I liked animating it so much that i wanted to finish the shot. So here is a clip that i hope will make my reel. Called it Ninja Escape for lack of anything better:) Two camera angles are included below, about 3MB each.

Link 2 (http://steinlagim.com/NinjaAni2.mov)
As a small sidenote, the deformations for the rig has not been finalized in this version, as i got carried away with the animation.
Thank you for watching, and please give any C&C you want. Been working on it for a while, and i know i can get a little blind and not spot problems which is obvious to others. Atm, i am a little unsure of the jump, but let me know:)

hi, Serashi (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=319543)
I would say Nice work for a start.
i would like to comment in 2 parts
1) show your rig with break downs with controls that you are building this will show the ability of your rig and the controls for Animation
2) use basic Animation principles first and then enhance your animation, like Anticipation, follow through, Action, Reaction, Timing,
you can work on Timing when the character shifts its poses which is very important.
Good luck .....

prety cool, I agree with jaag3d, the animation need tweak a little bit.

Thanks for the reply.
That clip is just animation, another rigging video will show the rig and all the controls. I tried to work with the animation principles in mind. I know i struggle with timing,so will take an extra look at it and tweek it some more before it ends up on a reel.
Also, its ends very abruptly, as I planned to add an end to it, but decided to just cut it short for now. Working on another animation where I test and make sure the IK/FK snapping will work on the rig:)

Thanks for more feedback.
I went through my movie collection, but not a lot of ninjas in there. so i stared out thinking normal average Joe doing the moves. So good idea to look at some ninjas and change it up. More tip toe, and graceful and silent movements perhaps. I will gather up some references for this clip and the others i am doing with this character, and do some serious alterations and polish before it ends up up on my animation reel.
Again, thanks for taking the time to watch my little clip and giving feedback.

Great idea actually. Completely forgot that. Also Prince of Persia would be good. Hope they both exist for PC:) Gotta check them online stores.
Cheers
