Anyways u prob realised from the topic that i'm a newb...anyways i'm going thru the maya documentation these days and i got stuck at this place...i tried everything i know so far but nothing works.

Okay i'm trying to extend a curve on a surface...the docs say:

1.Select the curve-on-surface.
2.Select Edit Curves > Extend > Extend Curve On Surface > and set the desired options.
4.Click the Extend CoS button.

I tried this by selecting an open isoparm on my surface but Maya said:

Error: No curves selected to extend

I also tried:

1.a closed isoparm on my surface...same error

2.The Toolbar's select by object type button by turning everything else off except Select Curve>NURBS Curves......doesn't select anything even when i marquee select the whole object....leave alone clicking a wireframe curve :P

Anyways can any of u geniuses help me out....quick...eeek i'm stuck!!!! :thumbsdow

You are confusung a curve drawn using Create EP curve/CV curve with isoparms. They are not the same.
Read the manuals for info on extending curves.

duh jonnymac!...of course i know what isoparms are....i said i tried that...that doesn't work for this...u shud read below for the answer too....but thanx

anakin....yeah ur rite...thanx...i was confusing the two

Anyways i figured out the answer.....Extend curves on surface doesn't wrok for the actual isoparms...its meant for curves drawn on a surface after making the surface live....its basically used if u want to trim etc. a surface using a curve drawn onto it...but u want to make changes in the curve u drew....NOT the actual isoparms :hmm:
