You have 100 Minutes to model a dock yard, sea port, or anything related.

We'll hope to run this no longer than 7 days, but if someone needs a day maybe two, just post up and let us know.

The requirements will be a wireframe and a PROGRAM STANDARD shaded view screen-capture. Then, after you have that, you can feel free to provide a beauty render. Please try to keep to just one render, but if you feel like you need more to show it off, provide a link to your photobucket image or wherever you have it hosted, posting the whole image, just to kind of save space.

Also, we should try to post only the thumbnail links, to make it easier on everyone viewing from slower connection to smaller monitors. Just something to keep in mind.

Yes i copied some from smc 07, this is my first time doing it i hope its fine.

I just sat down for the 100 minute dock modelling, this is my first time participating so I'm not sure if this is done right. Either way here's my standard render and a wireframe!

It's nothing fancy but I like this speed modeling challenge stuff so hopefully I'll continue and improve.

hey, thats what it's all about. you should also include a shaded view screen-cap from your perspective viewport. just turn shading on and enlarge your viewport and take a snap. thats the only thing you're missing.

Kayy, I tried doing what you said, didn't look different x.x than the render so I threw in a light. =D Thanks for the help!

I like that, it's nice!

I had about 1/4 of mine done then a storm came through and power went out and instantly the voice of countless instructors from college rang through my head "save often".... I didn't save it.... :( LOL So, I get to re-do it! It could have been worse.

Ive had to experience that to many times, it seems you can never save enough.

What worse is when the program crashses. Im working on a flash assignment atm, thank god for swf decompilers, almost lost 2 hours work (I dont have alot of time lately so it was terrible)

Hope to see yours soon

Argh. Time fly's by when you are modeling :D

90min's and then I quit. Iam going to build this later on, because I think it will make a nice picture in the end. Anyhow, here are the files:

Btw, I dont want to see my picture when I'm typing my post. How can I change that? (I just want to see [img] and so on).

I dunno. I just paste in my pic when I'm done typing haha.

As far as the thumbnails they should give you a "thumbnail" link which you can copy and paste into here, should do the trick.

I'll get my model done soon, I just got my internet back up and running (strongly advise anyone against verizon DSL, by the way) cus they claimed there were no issues with our connection and I was like, then why can't I get online!!! "well, we don't show any problems" I had to say "you got me, I'm just kidding, cus I like calling in and talking to you all day!!!"

Anyway, fixed now, frustrations are over now, for the most part haha.

Hi folks,

Finally got around to it and in the nick of time to. I guess SMC 09 will be starting up soon. Hope you guys like it. I'm not terribly happy with the damage around the lip, doesn't look splintery enough for my liking, but I know if I had more time I could make it look nice, so in the end, I'm happy with what I've got. Let me know what you think. Everybody has been doing some great stuff and all different from one another which is nice.
