Im new at mel and Im using it to script the creation of a 2 perspective panel layout. The problem is that when I try it out, it works fine, but if I toggle the outliner/perspective layout, the script written for the 2 perspective panels just toggles the outliner/ persp layout. I already know that you can just go ahead and create a new layout in the layout editor, but Im trying to see if I can script the creation so that other users besides myself can just generate the script without any problems. I have been in the mel commands ref. in the maya docs countless times. The panel layout is not just for itself either. Its for modeling with low poly and high poly. What I want to do is once the 2 panel layouts are created I want to assign the low poly on one side and the high poly on the other side, and I want all this to happen at the click of a button. Any ideas on the first problem would be great.
