View Full Version : Peer Review My New Generalist Reel.

Hi Folks,

I'm updating my reel and have a draft version I'm ready to bounce off my fellow artists.

It's a generalist reel. I focus on VFX, compositing, and 2D/3D design. I use mostly Lightwave and After Effects and everything in this reel is LW and AE.

I'm going to try to use this reel for picking up freelance and/or employment work in the LA area, so any feedback from veterans of that market would be greatly appreciated. I'm a freelancer from Ohio. I know LA focuses more on specialists, but I'm hoping to find work in a smaller studio that would need someone with a larger focus area.

I'm mostly worried about shot selection/quality, length, editing, and overall flow/feel. Thanks for talking your time to review it.

Hey!
Its looking awesome, I have nothing to critique, it seems flawless to me. The only thing I would change is to put some text to describe what you did on the shot, like: modeling, post production, etc. So everything would be noticed, because so far everything is so good and fluid that it almost seems easy to be made. Hope I made sense :)

Thanks for the review.

I tried my best to label things in the bottom left corner. Most of the reel is "all aspects" so I basically did everything. There's only four or five shots where I didn't do it all. Maybe I should call that out more. I have a reel breakdown that calls everything out in detail, that will be on my website once I post this new reel.
