This painting was inspired by the ongoing U.P. Cat Killer case: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/petition/144299696

It's not finished, there's a lot to do... But the big thing is I don't know how to do her face anymore :( Any comments and suggestions and critiques most of all would be appreciated very very very very much please. Thank you so much to all of you in advance! And please sign the petition :3

I'm no animals-with-wings anatomy professional, but I have always imagined the wings on any quadruped to come from the shoulder blade area or a little behind. Presently, your wings are coming from in front of where I believe the cats shoulder blades would be - they seem right now almost to be coming from its neck.

If that's what you want, then obviously you're fine. But I think it might make more sense to move them back a bit, in the event that you were able.

Really cute image as a whole.

TwoListen, you are absolutely right and I fail horribly for not having used layers :(

Still, I will keep that in mind and try to find a solution. Thank you so much :D

There's no need to criticize yourself for not using layers, I personally admire people who can paint without them. I know I sure have a difficult time painting all on one layer, it feels too vulnerable.

I think you can correct it pretty easily if you want to, a relative outline of the wing (you may only need to do the one in the front) should let you just reposition it back, and paint in the few resulting white areas - which should be pretty easy, since a good part of the top half has a white background anyway.

Hello again, I tried crudely cutting out the wing and moving it, what do you think?

I really like the idea. I think the ear is little too big. Rest is fine for me :)

About the ear, I dunno, 'cause I had a photoreference of a tiny tiny kitty whose ear is exactly this size. o__O

A couple of things you can do if you want to. Since the kitten seems to be sad, almost remorseful, you could put the ear laying flat back to enhance that. Second, now that you've moved the wing in front it doesn't line up perspectively with the second wing. It looks to me like it should start just behind the red collar.

This is such an adorable creature. It evokes much emotion. I think the comment about the ears helping to convey the cats feelings is a great idea.
