Hallo guys. This is what I'm currently working on. It's a redesign for Leonardo of TMNT. I just thought I'd ask for my fellow artists' help in finishing this via crits and advice. I'll be posting updates as I go along.

Right now, what bothers me are his masks and his armguard. The mask seems too...shiny, for lack of better word, making it look like satin or silk instead of dry cloth. As for the armguard, it's too...clean and monotone. Any help? I'm currently practicing on mixing subtle colors so it'd give a more vivid and realistic feel. What colors should I dab here and there?

Thanks.

An update on the work. Again, crits and comments for improvement are very much welcome. Thanks.

Another update. This will be how, more or less, the finished work will look like. However, I feel that it can still be done better. Please give me advice on how to refine it more, so it'll have a more professional and polished look. Thanks!

Several things I noticed:

You need shadows along the corner of the floor and wall.
The perspectice is off on the small post on the wal (look at the base compared to the lines on the floor).
The floor planks get increasingly wider as they go out from the center.
I think you would see some of the lower part of his legs even if his quads are huge.
If his eyes are closed, you should see green skin.
The straps need shadows under them much like you did with his hands on his legs.
As far as painting is concerned I would strongly suggest thinking about a specific light source and have it create a specific mood. This picture could be very dark and even if you want it light it can be more dramatic. To answer you question about painting wih different colors just remember that all color comes from light. For example, you would have light brown light reflected from the floor onto the underneath side of his armguards.
