heres something i've been working on for the last few days. almost done modeling, still need to add a few more details not to mention the wheels. it's really meant to be a texturing exercise (something i'm not so great at) so we'll see how that turns out.

what do you guys think so far?

Very cool. Whathca modeling in? From the looks of it, I'd say Maya w/ mental ray for rendering. Can ya post a wireframe? I loves wires. :) Especially if it's a NURBS jeep.. droool.

what do you mean the grill is too big? is it too wide or too high? or both?

why in gods name would you use nurbs for a jeep? no really, thats the worst idea ever.

well, I'd sure use nurbs for this type of work.

you have more control with the curves!

don't be afraid! :scream:

i've only just started to texture this model so expect a lot more dirt, scratches, and rust...

just me, or does the window looka bit tall?

It might be just me, because I'm used to seeing hotrods where the top is chopped a bit.

Nice looking

for one thing, the rest of the vehicle is to clean looking, it makes the rust spots stand out to much.

Another thing, I think the rust map your using isn't the best.

There should be paint chips around the rust, the rust shouldn't just "fade in" to the paint.

Keep it up!

I think the green is way too green and way to bright, it should be more like an olive green and little bit darker... kinda like this...

... just my opinion though

so i guess this shade of green isn't good. i tried to go for a sun faded green on an old jeep. but the olive green looks pretty good too. i can't decide which looks better....

also how would i go about getting paint chips?

i'll render one out with a lower light level, maybe that will help.

To me material looks more like wood and not metal.

I like the model.

Lookin good so far. Definately add some bullet holes, and maybe a rip in the fabric of the seat. The part below the window does look a little tall.
