View Full Version : Shot labeler/frame counter
chickensandbeandip 05-24-2009, 07:55 PM Is there any kind of script that will allow you to add a frame counter and an in screen shot name for the playblasts? I want to do blocking passes and efficiently label the shots, maybe include the FOV in there too, so when I edit it I can see the information clearly and Know what frame to fix etc?
If you can include a link to an existing one that would be great too.

This information is usually embedded into the shot file (automatically), and a video compositing program can display it for you. It isn't part of the visible image data.

Hey chickensandbeandip,
for Maya I use a frame counter from one of the many options detailed in this 11secondclub forum thread (http://www.11secondclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=156).
I can't remember which one, sorry, but it's a simple MEL script using Heads Up Display, so you may be able to modify it easily to also show the name of the shot and other data.
Good luck!

You can use maya's default heads up display to display all sorts of information. Look in the help docs to find out the other flags.
You can replace the command with camera name, scene name, focal lenght, whatever.
Good luck.
