Hey there,

This is my Recent Demo Reel with animations done while in school.

I just graduated and am looking for a job!
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Yo addybhandari, i'm surprised that there are no comments, you have a great reel here (maybe better than more "popular" post...),anyway, i like your actings, my favourite is with the two lovers, it is very subtil,
for the critics, maybe you could add a little more delays in general (on fingers for example), it would make your animation more "polished" and fluid, and maybe the cat is not as good as the others, essentially weight issues, anyway, nice work and good luck for the job hunting..

Hey Sipone!
Thanks a lot for your comments and feedback!
I could go in and re-polish some shots, though am super tempted to animate new ones! Lets see... have some ideas, trying to simplify them.
Thanks again!

Yep. I agree, it's a very good reel with lot of subtle animation rather than the standard snappy style

the little girl has a great attitute and the lovers are the best of it, also agree that the cat isn't as good as the rest of it

Hey man!

Great demo reel! I really like how you went for the more subtle and realistic animation. I loved the one with the guy and the girl taking the picture. One thing though, that I noticed and be careful with this things because as small as it was, it can throw away the illusion of the moment. What I noticed was that when he goes to take the picture of them together the camera rotates in his hand. I think you forgot to key the camera in those frames for the rotation.

My mentor at AM one day gave us an advice about when they watch demoreels at work. One thing that he said when watching demos is that the smallest pop or weird movement could be enough to take them out of the mood or believing the character is alive. And most of the time they turn it off after that. So, make sure you go through everything and make sure it runs smoothly. :)

The other shots were great as well. I really like the little girl with the loop. Came out nice!

I think the demo is great and it has a lot of room for improvement. I have a suggestion, that maybe you could re-arrange the order of the shots. For example, I would put the one with the guy and the girl, followed by the little girl, then the girl with the book, the monster and so on.

Great stuff and keep up the good work!

Hey Mathias!

Thanks so much for your feedback!

Hey Javier!

Yea you're right, I do have stuff to polish up in all the shots. I'll be fixing these issues while I plan new shots. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post!
Am also going to re-order the shots, once I have another round of polish out of the way!

Thanks again!

That is one great reel! I loved it. As everyone else mentioned the lovers is just great. I also really enjoyed the creature shot. I watched it again as soon as it was over. Nice work. I am sure the job hunt will go well.

Cheers,

Nice Demo Reel & love the subtle use of body language in the couple & girl shots ... and liked the cat one (maybe a bit slower timing & make longer ..?).

Excellent work.

I like your animations you have some skill! A couple of things though...

ONE- the cats tail actually moves more than that its really hard to animate, look up references.

TWO- when someones in bad sitting like that you tend to move alot because beds are soft.

THREE- don't be afraid to exaggerate the posses a bit.

Overall great job!

Hey thanks everyone for the responses!

Jerry - Yes I just graduated from AAU with a Master's in animation.

Mel - Thanks so much !

Phill - Thanks for the feedback on the cat !

Manuel - Thank you so much :)

Rodolfo - Thanks for the feedback, my reel leans towards the more realistic style of animation but I'll try a shot which is more broad with gestures soon...
