"An unknown error has occured while performing this operation"
I get this error quite often in the trial version of Mudbox 2009, most notable when I add a new sub-d level. Sometimes I can continue working anyway, sometimes mb crashes, sometimes it freezes but I can still use ALT+f4 to close it but regardless of the outcome it renders MB useless to me.
I've searched around and found threads that indicated that there was a problem with the install and that cleaning the registry might help. The tip came along with a few recomendations for registry cleaning programs so I got those and tried but the problem remains.
I have also noted when adding a new sub-d level to a simple cube, either created in MB or imported (Maya-user over here) works just fine and this has lead me to believe that the problem is the actual model, but as far as i can tell the model is fine and as I got absolutly nothing to go on when it comes to cleaning it up (gotta love them "Unknown errors") I'm just not sure what I should do.
Anyone got any tips?
Thanks
*Edit
Tried removing the faces at the bottom of the model (making environment, so they wont be there anyway) and now it works fine. I guess it was just the model after all but it bugs me that I still dont know what it is so if anyone has an answer please post anyway. :)
