Due to some technical issues with cgtalk, Diana wasn't capable of posting this here, till we get here account sorted out here is the post also posted on various other C4D forums. I'll keep it sticky for just a few days just to make sure everyone sees it once

If you would like to participate please read below…

IMAGES:
We are in search of new images for our Gallery. Please submit these to me via e-Mail here at MAXON USA. My e-Mail address is:
diana@maxon.net
(e-Mailing me the link to your website or web link to a public gallery is fine, as long as these images won’t be removed any time soon.)

ANIMATION:
Additionally, we are always seeking animation footage for consideration to be included on our Demo Reel.

Here is the order of preference for how to submit your animations:

1.) Web link to your website.
2.) Web link to your animation on public galleries.
3.) Mail to me on the media formats listed below.

QuickTime, D1, Uncompressed or very lightly compressed

Or Mini DV

Or DVD Video

If sending any of the above media please address to:

Please be patient, if I can’t get back to you right away. We are deep in the process of getting ready for SIGGRAPH.

NOTE: No, you are not seeing double. I did post a similar request on Renderosity last week, to sort of “test the waters”.

Thanks for your time!!

(part of me wants to be part of the gallery, the other part of me says I haven't reached that caliber yet... ACK)

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make a worthy animation for this!

ofcourse it's one thing to say that you'll do something, and something totally different to actually pull it off

This might be the motivation I was looking for.

Whether you think you reached an acceptable level or not is not the issue. Maxon needs high-end pictures without a doubt, but they also need "real" ones - stuff that's made in a production environment with clients breathing down your neck while you don't master the software completely - yet.

It might sound strange, but some potential users get scared when they see the level of perfection that can be reached with C4D. They need to see the regular stuff as well.

So please, send your not-yet-perfect and not-yet-finished pictures and animations as well. It helps a lot to convince people of what can be done.

Kind regards,
BaRa

Problem with posting unfinished/finished client images, most of the time they have a NDA

My personal policy is I dont submit images, but if someone asks Im happy to let them be used. Saves me the grief of having them rejected, and the honor of being asked is fair reward.

To be honest, I think Maxon is only intersted in A+ images for its gallery.

You got images for the gallery, and you got images for "internal" use. You need both. Correction: I need both ;)

Cheers,
BaRa
