Plan to finish base mesh by this weekend.

(1) spans are added / modified to achieve the wrinkles during the facial time (as well for default model too :-).
(2) head proportion has changed.

as for today, file is closed with pending of ear, neck, inner mouth parts.
As next 2 days are holiday, i'll try to finalize the base mesh with hair / eyebrow part (:wip: )

Hey. I like the progress, the conexion of the ear with the head looks like a little small, but I don't know if you'll be going for a cartoon style or nor, but looking the first reference of your photos, he has that appearance. goodluck! :thumbsup:

Good progress. Looking at your references, I would say extend the scalp/neck area a little from behind the ear. Also, looking at it from the front it seems like his head should be a little wider on the top than what you have right now. Other than that, looking good so far :thumbsup:

In next upload, planning to do eyebrow, hair & bumps (in face) in uv/texture to freeze the base model.

fur test of hair (wip) : Dummy skull mesh inside the obama's head to grow fur.

Paint Fx eyebrows : (a) Pfx brows converted to Poly
(b) created nurbs curve & wire deform to brow mesh.
(c) This curve will be wrap to poly head of obama for facial purpose.

Ears, Nose are finetuned.

just i completed the uv.. will be work on bump & will be upload in next version to freeze the model (mmm!...soon).

It's looking good so far, but I would lose that fur. Barack Obama is black, and a black man's hair (the actual hairs) usually isn't straight, but is somewhat curly.

(hold on for bump texture! bcoz have been learning fur techniques & preparing good light )

previously i used GI light.
I think, its not good for show casing character models (or) am not good in handling GI.

right now, am using 3 point light techniques (+ 2 more fill lights :-)

Modification in this final version is,

skull embose under the eyes,
forehead,
nose,
chin & cheek.
Also, the bump map has applied to enhance the look & feel.

Finaly, 'Barack Obama' model has freezed, to proceed further for eXpressions.

looks like him. I'd say the eyes are too wide atm and reveal too much of the eyeball and I feel you've stretched the mouth a bit too wide as well... just a little bit though. Keep going - looking forward to the expressions

Also, his forehead is more pronounced. I want to see how this turns out.

As far as likeless goes, it's 4.5/5, It's recognizable, but just needs some adjustments. It's a great skin, though, haha I hope I can make work like this, with practice, I can only hope so. I have a suggestion, not sure if you want to do it, because it might start to look like a caricature, but if you could make his ears bigger, it would be spot on. They seem to be the most prominent part of his body. But yes, this is looking fabulous, I hope you finish it!

As Barack is president, i couldn't go for wide expression like actors, where he kind of guys reacts with subtle emotions.
(but i have been trying to make inbetween of subtle & wide, as this is CG version).

After challenge / PC upgradation,

i 'll do real texture/fur along with fine tune using zbrush displacement.
So for, i didn't use zbrush as my PC doesn't support more divisions & more K texture.
