looks like a good idea dude.
my only complaint was that on the first vid tut, the narrator had some trouble locating some of the tools. maybe script out the tuts and do some practice runs to get everything right.
but it does look good, i coulda used a site like this when i was starting out.
Thanks for the review. We contemplated revising the tutorials. However, at this stage, we are offering them for free, they teach important topics that can be extremely useful. Expect our next tutorials to be error free, or as close as we can manage.
Sign up the next time you get a chance so you can give us feedback on our more advanced tutorials!
Once again thanks for the reviews. We should have 2 or 3 more tutorials coming soon.

Supermax,
We're looking into a downloadable version so you don't have to wait for buffering. I'll post something once we get a little more organized with the tutorials. Over the course of the week we should have something for you and your 56k friends. I thought everyone had broadband by now.. silly me.

Well thank you very Raideen and Jbrophy the positive feedback is a great assurance and motivation for me to keep on going with this and also that you Raideen have learned something new is even a better one:). I want to let you guys know that the latest tutorial has been added. It's on how to use either the wire parameters method or the reactor controller for some automated motion in a Rig without getting too technical just using what you got.
Enjoy the tutorials and hope you learn something new folks

Nice site! Just registered. I did notice a typo in the tutorial section. You spelled "Length" - "Legnth" at the bottom of all the tutorial descriptions. Just thought you'd like to know.

Hey BigSerge ad Dmak. *kisses for you both*
hehehe
BigSerge, you mentioned you played or saw Max6 in action at Siggraph, What were you impressions of it?
;)
Once again thanx for the great tutorials
1 Question, I saw one of your model in the 'Skinning' tutorial which was one hell of a good model, okey here is the question - I was wondering if you are going to make any modeling tutorials?
Excuse my English
Yes, we have plans to cover many more topics. Please check back to the site regularly as we are constantly updating it, and we'll surely post our new tutorial announcements in this thread. Thanks for your comments, greatly appreciated!

Sorry about that Supermax a bit of delayed response on your question
"BigSerge, you mentioned you played or saw Max6 in action at Siggraph, What were you impressions of it?"
My impression of it is just too sweet particle flow flowing at my finger tips finally brings Max to a sweet particle system upgrade. Seeing it at work online is one thing but getting to use it for a bit really makes you feel it's strenght and ease of use.
Bottom line is all you see on Discrets page about it are truelly great, and good greef especially the mental inclusion as the TV or film Italian Mob would say (Foget abou IT) :)
I just can't wait for it

Excellent stuff. Thanks a lot.
One question on the morpher - what was the point in creating the spline from the edgeloop? Why not directly link mesh vertices on the edgeloop to dummies?
BigSerge
09-09-2003, 01:34 AM
Thanks Folks we greatly appreciate the props from you all as much as you appreciate the tutorials from us. Dvornik sorry about that, that's a question that most have after watching the morph tutorials and I need to put a please read txt file with it. Okay the reason for the edge loop spline cage link to the dummy's first instead of going directly to to the surface is because the more linked X-Form Dummy Objects you have hooked up to a sub/soft-selection on your object the slower max will get (not much real-time) feedback you'll get. so, the Idea is that with this set up, you can hide the geometry and using that edgeloop spline cage, you can see pretty smooth real-time feedback as if you were to draw your character out (smiling, ferrowing, snearing etc...) then bake into the surface and save selected. I dunno about you guys but I sue as heck don't like lag when I'm working so I try to find some work arounds :) Hope that helps.
Love, Peace, and Chiken Grease

Makes sense. Once again, very informative. Can't wait for more. Like that UV editing you've mentioned :). Would be great to see something complex unwrapped.
The best thing is that many techniques that look complicated when you read about them are demonstrated in a very straightforward way that makes sense in production. Great macro recorder tutorial.
