I'm getting ready to mold my head in plaster then I plan on drawing the polys on the mold and then model it! Also, I am trying to do a head modeling tutorial originally for maya, from The Hobbit Guy's (http://www.thehobbitguy.com) page. That one isnt going well. :(

i am developing a animated logo for a novice writer/director. i am making extensive use of bodypaint to take a bitmap pic of that person's face and place it on a polymesh, which i will then animate his character. i am also using thinking particles, dynamics, sla, mocca, and more to come i'm sure. i have found cinema 4d to be the best complete package that i have used thus far. in the past i have used maya, 3d studiomax, lightwave, and xsi. while the highend software has more features similar results can be achieved for a third of the price using cinema 4d. i am very glad to be a user and am excited for any upcoming improvments.

P.S. i sent a pm to scott m c4d about a very nice plugin idea i had. i hope this is ok.

heya scott!
remember me? maybe my avatar may ring a bell..

I too have become an avid cinema 4d user and I to have come here (and a few more cinema 4d communities) to learn, learn and learn.

Right now, I am trying to pick up some modelling skills, since modelling is something I really suck at.

edit: MJV, I love the project you are working on. I hope to see more :)

Hiya,
danb i have sent a reply to your PM :)
Maybe there is a plugin that will do what you want on the net.

Hiya dpvtank,
It's great to see you here.
My modelling skills is one area i need to work on myself but i guess you know about my last year with the ups and downs av had recently.
Am on holiday for 2 weeks now so i will get some time to improve.
If you need any help with C4D just give me a shout mate :)
ps What version or cinema are you using btw?

Yeah,
You can get a student discount am sure i think. Call Maxon in Bedford (UK) on 01525 718181 to find out more info and your options.
You might be able to get the XL Bundle for £500 if your lucky.

So far Ive done everything myself, but not out of choice. Ultimately I would like to employ around six Cinema artist to help me finish it, if or when I get some funding. Otherwise Ill finish it myself, however long it takes. Im a patient man.

I'm learning 3D - the best fun since Lego, with the advantage that with C4D you can't lose any of the bits.

Here's my current WIP - http://www.knight42.org.uk/c4d/freelander/index.htm

I'm not a professional, I'm doing 3D as a hobby.

I'm working on a 1999 Honda Prelude right now, and also have to finish my 1992 Prelude too.

Current commissions using C4D are some animated icons for a flash site, Some static icons for a website/print campaign, artwork for a classical music CD release, and long term project of designing, building and animating original Star Wars ships/sets for a pro quality fan film due for release next year! :)
