i was hoping to get in touch with someone about an idea i had for cinema. But i think i'll just post it here. my idea is if someone could develop a plugin for bodypaint that uses adobe illustrator's distort envelope-> mesh function. what happens with the mesh function is that you can apply it to a layer and distort it as if it was a planar mesh. you can set columns and rows. when you select one of the points and move it the bitmap or layer is distorted. i think this would be very usefull for making head models from bimaps. one could model the mesh to a close likeness, then apply a color texture to it. then import the bitmap, apply the filter, wrap to the bitmap and merge the distorted bitmap to the color texture. if this had a realtime preview it would rock.:buttrock: i have tried this in illustrator with an unwrapped uv mesh, where i overlayed the bitmap to the uvmesh then turned down the transparency and warped it like that. kind of diffuclt. i don't know if this is possible, i have never developed plugins so my knowledge is crap for that area. just basically a brainstorm i had. hope i didn't overlook something simple. any comments welcome.
i am working on an exapmle and will try to get it done later in some spare time.
