Hi all,

I am looking for a way to move vertecies onto a surface, whether I need to write a script for this or an already made plugin, i am still not sure.

I know of the move to surface script which ships with max and the glue plugin. However the 'move to surface' max script moves complete objects and the glue plugin only works for splines..... I need something which drapes one surface over another.

eg. align the z values of these vertecies to the surface below

If anyone could give me any ideas or pointers on how I could achieve this it would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,
Brendan

Yeah I know, but I highly recommend the modifier, you can use it in far more efficient ways such as working with splines.

You can also pretty easily script this sort of thing yourself as there's an example script in the max reference. "Move objects to a Surface" although for a mesh object like that it might be quite slow, but might be useful for other things.
