Cool style. I like this guy a lot. You're making progress, so there's not really a lot I can say except it looks good so far.
As for the teeth... I'd just do an extruded "c" shape for the top and botom jaw. Texture it a pretty flat white w/o lines between the seperate teeth. It should look good and it'll be simple too.
Keep us posted. :)

Well, in general, fingers tend to be straight (from a top veiw). On a human hand the middle finger is straight and the pointer, ring, and pinky fingers sort of curve slightly into the middle finger.
On you're ant, his fingers wave back and forth, and to me looks like they're broken... but if they look the way you want them to, no worries.
I took another look at you're reference, and from the drawing, it looks kinda like you drew the back of the hand straight on, while drawing the fingers from the side (as if the fingers were turned 90 degrees in their sockets). That could be why they look a littl odd.
I still think the character is going well, and I love that cartoony shader you placed on him!:D

yes! much better.
they look alittle bit bowed outwardly though. if you could bow the fingers (slightly) inward, or toward each other that would really make them a lot better!:D
If that didn't make sense, I can try to explain it more in-depth.

Yes please do, I never modeled hands I am so use to lowpoly modeling that i never got exp in doing so this is actrally frist time modeling them in much more detail.
do you mean like the fingers should point inward?

sorry sutabi,
Okay, the thumb looks great to me! Now it looks like you tried to make the fingers look spread out, which is fine, but they also look like if they were to come together, they would only touch at the first knuckle.
If you look at your hand, you will notice that when your fingers are together, they touch almost everywhere along the whole finger. It's probably most noticeable on the pointer and the pinky finger how they are bowed slightly toward the middle finger.
Now look at the wire frame render of the hand. See the line that goes down the center of each finger? If you were to draw a straight line from the start of each finger you can see how that center line arcs away from the straight line.
Since the character is cartoony, and since there are only two fingers you may want to just make the fingers completely straight (by making that center line as straight as possible). Making them bow into each other may not even be necessary. Just be sure that when you make the center line straight, you also work with keeping the sides the same distance from the center line that they have now.
hope that helps
rock on :buttrock:

well, if in doubt, start over... lol
Yes looking a lot better: the fingers don't look like they're bent unnaturally anymore.
I learned what I was trying to tell you from an anatomy book, so if you want, you could pick one up and look in the part talking about hands... it might be in there.
His weight is way over behind him the way he is leaning, so he does look like he would fall over backwards.
keep it up! :D
