i'm hoping to find some help of how i can create a very basic version of the massive tidal wave scene in ''the day after 2moro''

all i really want is for the water 2 move through a basic city reacting to each building and maybe having some slight wakes created when it touches the buildings
when i say basic i mean 10 stretched cubes and a ground plane with the water moving around and not going straight through the cubes
its the water simulation i'm trying to get right
so far i have used fluids (that look like smoke until i turn them to hard surfaces and use a negative buoyancy value)
the trouble is the fluids are bound to the 3d box and i want them to possibly slide down a slope and then to interact with the buildings
