View Full Version : Blendshapes delete problem
belly80naz 07-18-2003, 02:41 PM Hi all, I'm trying to use blandshape and I've got some problem to delete a blend slider that for me it's more than I want. How can I delete it? (the slider, no the object target)
I try Deform->Edit Blend shape->Remove but I don't understand what's "Node" and what's Target.

the only way i've been able to find that you can get rid of that slider and not get rid of the target object is to first pick the base object, and then shift pick the target object (which is corresponding to the slider you want gone). Then go to Deform > Edit Blendshape > Remove. This should remove that slider from your blenshape window. But the big problem is that Maya chooses to replace that slider with a new one (which has a name like "w[0]" or something). I don't know why it does this, and I can't find a way to get rid of that slider (i've tried looking under the hood for a node to delete in the hypergraph but I've come up with nothing). So in effect, i don't really know if this is a solution you want to use because you still end up with an extra slider in there that you probably don't want in there cluttering things up.
take it for what its worth.
good luck.

I haven't yet the target object so the Remove command don't work.:D However, if I remain with another slider called "w[0" or "notused" (like I've called it) the problem remain, or not?

the problem of still having a slider that you don't want in your blendshape editor window will still be there, yes

I find the solution!!!:lightbulb
I do: Create another blend shape, I position the slider that I want to keep to 1 and in the new blend shape click "Add", and I do this for all the sliders that I want to keep, and in the end I delete the old bland shapes with the over slider. And Tadaaa:wavey: Thanks for the support "sithwarlord".
