View Full Version : Modeller Lighter Renderer looking for work
Daveaustin 07-18-2003, 10:47 AM Hey People!
well i'm now at the point where i'm looking for some serious work,
I graduated a year ago, and since then have been working on a short animated film (http://www.inthedeadofnight.com) with some graduate buddies.
I was responsible for the creation of the sets/environments [modelling and texturing]
I've been using SoftImage|XSI since it was released, and prior to that SoftImage|3D 3.9
but as well as that, I am currently learning Maya 4
My speciality lies in Hi-poly modelling and texturing. [see examples on site]
I'm currently UK based [Leeds] and looking to enter the awesome life of the TV/film industry
If anyone out there likes what I do, and would like to contact me, my email address is on my website
www.daverack.com (http://www.daverack.com)
or you can send me a private message on this forum
Regards
Dave

Hey everyone!
yep it's that time again.. bump
just out of interest, my new updated reel is now online and can be downloaded on my site www.daverack.com (http://www.daverack.com)
the reel is in XviD format and about 35Mb, so i don't think it'd be a good idea for all those people using 56k's to download it, unless you're suicidal!
here are a couple of renders to get your tastebuds tingling

Very nice work. I am very interested in the short film you guys made. I don't know if anyone else here asked, but are you planning to make a game based on it? My group is working on a vampire game right now (no specifics at this time,) but after we're done with it, I wouldn't mind buying the rights to "In the Dead of Night." Or if you prefer, we can just work together on it. That way you and your friends keep all of the rights to it.
Thanks,

Sjaak: cheers.. I had the interview on tuesday. It was at Criterion Games in Guildford.. the people who made Burnout 1&2
and it seemed to go really well, i've gotta go back next thursday for a second interview
I also had another interview today, at Eutechnyx in Newcastle. They are also a very nice games company, but totally different to Criterion.
Webphoenix: Thanks buddy! we haven't had any proper thoughts about making it into a game, although I could see it happening sometime in the future. as for buying the rights to the title, that would be something i'd have to talk about with the rest of the team.
we're all kinda busy with fulltime work so ITDON has been put on the back burner for the moment.. we're contemplating re-writing the story..
Thanks for the interest
I LIKE YOUR STYLE! :buttrock: :applause:
