ok not really a good question, i like to ask u ppl this simple question:

Traditional pencil or Mechanical pencil, which is more helpful in developing ur skills/techniques?

ermm, why tis question u may ask.. coz i *almost* started an arguement with my new section head (a source of irritation to my course mates and lecturers) regarding the use of mechinical pencil for drawing/sketching..

reason as to why i use mechinical pencil is becos 1)comfortable to it; 2) Traditional pencil get shortened quickly over the time n due to the economic crisis now, mechinical pencil does makes more sense to me as my style doesn't need much shading..
luckily for me, my fellow classmate "rescue" me by telling the section head tat i didn't had my drawing set with me..

as to the question again i really like n appreciate ur feedbacks, but do consider my viewpoints in ur replies LOL! :D

Why not use both? Why limit yourself to just one?

Wood pencils are great in that you can use the flat side for shading, and you can have a few different ones at various sharpness/dull states for variety. Mechanical is great because it's so clean and convenient, and the tip is always the same so you have consistency should you need it.

In the end, if you can draw, you can draw with anything.
