View Full Version : animating OR wiring frequency on noise controller
3rd Dimentia 07-18-2003, 05:08 AM Does anyone know a way to be able to wire the frequency of a noise controller to something else? I want to wire 90 noise controllers to a single value so that I can animate the speed of noise rotation easily. It seems you can't even animate the lil bugger never mind get to it via wire parameters. I'm guessing that the only way to do it would be thru making a noise controller with maxscript but wouldn't have the faintest idea where to start.
Any ideas?

There is not a tracknode associated with frequency in noise controllers and therefore, cannot be animated or wired. If you are still interesed though, you can manage the value of frequency within a script that gets executed in a perframe basis. A way of do this would be attach a script controller to the object that changes the value. See the example(rotation noise controller), that "wires" manually the frequency to the slider value

Hey, thanks for that. It indeed does change the frequency of the noise controller, but I have no idea how to use it. Where would be the best place to start learning maxscript? I've been putting this off for too long.
