View Full Version : question about fluid detail solver
wilsonDeepBlue 05-15-2009, 04:15 PM hey, guys:
i just did a little test about the fluid detail solver, but i found some weird problem, if i turn the detail solver on, the smoke looks some square texture on it. wats wrong with this? thank u in advance

your initial render looks pretty square, too. I wonder if the detail solver isn't simply exacerbating that. I've found if you make the opacity curve really steep to get a sharp density transition, it wants to highlight the squares in the fluid resolution. I'd say increase the resolution, make your opacity curve smoother, or (ify) add opacity texture to the original. Then see if you're getting the same results with the second two

Try looking at your shading quality, and set the render interpolator to smooth. That may ease the boxiness a bit.
